ship: kyoka jirou + momo yaoyorozu.
The annual U.A. High School alumni party was in full swing. The spacious common room of the alumni centre was filled with laughter, music, and the warm glow of twinkling lights. Former classmates and friends reunited, sharing stories of their recent exploits as pro heroes. Among them were Momo Yaoyorozu and Kyoka Jirou, who had both grown into their roles with grace and strength.
Momo, ever the picture of elegance, was dressed in a stylish cocktail dress that accentuated her poise and sophistication. Kyoka, on the other hand, had opted for her usual rocker chic look, complete with her signature leather jacket. The two had been inseparable friends throughout their time at U.A., and their bond had only deepened since graduating.
As the night wore on, the drinks flowed freely, and the atmosphere grew more relaxed. Momo had always been a light drinker, but tonight she found herself letting loose more than usual. The combination of the festive environment and the nostalgic company of old friends made it hard to resist. Kyoka, noticing Momo's uncharacteristic merriment, couldn't help but smile. There was something endearing about seeing the usually composed Momo letting her guard down.
They had been talking in a quiet corner of the room, catching up and reminiscing about their school days. Momo's cheeks were flushed, not just from the alcohol but from the genuine joy of being with Kyoka. The guitarist herself had had a few drinks, but her tolerance was higher, leaving her mostly buzzed rather than tipsy.
Momo giggled, her laughter light and musical. "Kyoka, you're still as amazing as ever," she said, her words slightly slurred but filled with sincerity. "I've missed this, missed us."
Kyoka's heart warmed at Momo's words. She had always harboured deeper feelings for her friend, feelings she had kept to herself out of fear of jeopardizing their friendship. But tonight, something felt different. Maybe it was the alcohol, or maybe it was the way Momo was looking at her, but Kyoka felt a surge of courage.
Momo leaned closer, her eyes shining with a mix of affection and curiosity. "Kyoka, can I ask you something?"
Kyoka nodded, her own heartbeat quickening. "Sure, Momo. Anything."
Momo's gaze was unwavering as she studied Kyoka's face. "Were you always this pretty?" she asked, her voice soft and filled with wonder.
Kyoka blinked, taken aback by the question. A blush crept up her neck, and she chuckled nervously. "Uhm. Momo, are you drunk?"
Momo shook her head, though her giggle suggested otherwise. "Maybe a little. But I mean it, Kyoka. You've always been beautiful, but tonight... I can't stop looking at you."
Kyoka's breath hitched at Momo's confession. Her mind raced, trying to find the right words. "Momo, I..."
Before she could finish, Momo reached out, gently cupping Kyoka's cheek. "You've always been there for me, Kyoka. You've been my rock, my confidante. I've admired you for so long, and I think... I think I've loved you for even longer."
Kyoka's eyes widened, her heart pounding in her chest. "Momo, I... I feel the same way. I've loved you for so long, but I was afraid to tell you."
Tears welled up in Momo's eyes, a mix of relief and happiness. "Why were we so afraid?"
Kyoka laughed softly, brushing a strand of hair from Momo's face. "I guess we were both worried about ruining what we had. But I don't want to hide it anymore."
Momo's lips curled into a tender smile, her thumb gently caressing Kyoka's cheek. "Me neither. I want to be with you, Kyoka. Not just as friends, but as something more."
Kyoka leaned in, her forehead resting against Momo's. "I want that too. More than anything."
The world around them seemed to fade away as they shared their first kiss, a sweet and gentle meeting of lips that held all the unspoken words and hidden feelings of years past. It was a kiss that promised new beginnings and a love that had been waiting patiently to bloom.
When they finally pulled apart, Momo's eyes sparkled with tears of joy. "You're more than enough for me, Kyoka. You always have been."
Kyoka smiled, her heart overflowing with love. "And you're everything I've ever wanted, Momo. I'm so glad we found the courage to say it."
Hand in hand, they stepped back into the party, their hearts lighter and their spirits soaring. The night had brought them together in a way they had always dreamed of, and they were ready to face whatever the future held, as long as they were together.
