ship: katsuki bakugo + eijiro kirishima.
The evening air was crisp as autumn leaves rustled outside U.A. High School's dormitory windows. Inside, the once vibrant atmosphere had become somber, and the usual lively chatter was replaced by an uncomfortable silence. Katsuki Bakugo and Eijiro Kirishima were sitting across from each other in their shared dorm room, the weight of a recent argument hanging heavily between them.
Kirishima sat on the edge of his bed, his posture slumped as he stared at the floor. His usually bright eyes were clouded with hurt and confusion. Bakugo, standing by the window with his back turned, was struggling with the turmoil of his own emotions. The words they had exchanged in their argument had cut deep, and the regret was gnawing at him.
"I didn't mean to say you're not enough, okay?" Bakugo finally broke the silence, his voice rough but earnest. "Because you are. You're more than enough. But me... I'm not. I am not enough to appreciate a person like you."
Kirishima's heart ached at Bakugo's words. The argument had begun with frustration over their differing expectations and had escalated into a heated exchange that left both of them feeling raw. The harsh words Bakugo had thrown during the argument were still echoing in Kirishima's mind, each one like a painful stab.
Kirishima looked up, his eyes meeting Bakugo's with a mixture of sadness and resignation. "You don't really believe that, do you? That you're not enough?"
Bakugo turned around slowly, his face etched with a blend of frustration and sorrow. "I do, Kirishima. I've been pushing you away, thinking I don't deserve someone as amazing as you. And then, when I said those things, it was like... I was just confirming it. I don't deserve you."
Kirishima's breath caught in his throat, the pain of Bakugo's admission hitting him hard. "Why would you say that? Why would you think you're not enough?"
Bakugo's gaze dropped to the floor, his hands clenched into fists by his sides. "Because I mess everything up all the fucking time. I'm harsh, I'm reckless... I just keep making mistakes. And every time, you're there, trying to fix things, trying to make it work. Then, I just snap at you and I just feel like I'm never good enough for you."
Kirishima stood up, his eyes filled with a mix of determination and hurt. "Bakugo, you're wrong. You're wrong about everything. I never thought you weren't enough. I'm not perfect either. I have my own flaws and insecurities."
Bakugo's eyes met Kirishima's, a flicker of hope struggling to break through the despair. "But I've hurt you. I've pushed you away and... and said things I didn't mean."
Kirishima took a step closer, his voice trembling with emotion. "You've hurt me, yes. But that doesn't change how much I care about you. I know you're not perfect, but neither am I. That's what makes us human. That's what makes our relationship real."
Bakugo's eyes softened, the walls he had built around himself beginning to crumble. "I don't want to push you away. I want to be better for you. I just... I don't know how."
Kirishima reached out and took Bakugo's hands in his own, his touch gentle and reassuring. "You don't have to be perfect. You just have to be you. And I love you for who you are, not for who you think you should be."
Bakugo's eyes glistened with unshed tears, the weight of his fears and regrets beginning to lift. "I'm so sorry, Kirishima. I didn't mean any of it. I just... I didn't know how to handle everything."
Kirishima squeezed Bakugo's hands, his own tears finally spilling over. "We'll figure it out together. We don't have to be perfect. We just have to be honest and keep trying. That's what love is."
Bakugo pulled Kirishima into a tight embrace, his arms wrapping around him with a desperate need for connection. Kirishima held him just as tightly, his head resting on Bakugo's shoulder. The warmth of their embrace was a balm to their wounded hearts, a reminder of the strength of their bond.
"I don't want to lose you," Bakugo murmured into Kirishima's hair, his voice breaking. "I can't stand the thought of pushing you away."
Kirishima's voice was soft but filled with unwavering conviction. "You won't lose me. I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere. We're in this together, no matter what."
As they held each other, the weight of their argument began to lift, replaced by the comforting presence of their shared love and commitment. The pain and frustration of the argument were still there, but they were now overshadowed by the understanding and acceptance they had for each other.
In that moment, surrounded by the quiet of their room and the closeness of their embrace, Bakugo and Kirishima found solace in the knowledge that their love was stronger than any mistake or miscommunication. They would face their struggles together, learning and growing as they navigated the complexities of their relationship.
And as the night settled around them, the two of them found peace in the promise of moving forward together, with hearts open and love unconditionally given.
