I sat at my desk, fingers drumming anxiously on the polished wood surface as my eyes scanned the photographs once again. Each image was like a knife twisting in my gut. Avni, my wife, captured in candid, everyday moments: outside of her office building, hanging out with her friends, shopping with Kashish, and even that quiet, vulnerable moment when she thought no one was watching her.

I clenched my jaw, feeling the familiar surge of anger and dread. The fact that someone had been stalking her, even while she was surrounded by guards, was disturbing. It wasn’t just a violation of her safety; it was a direct threat to her life and mine. The message that came with the email was burned into my heart: 'Looks like Avivansh Pratap Singh has a weakest nerve'.

My assistant, stood beside me, his face pale with concern as he pointed to one of the photos. "Sir, this angle...it’s too close. Whoever took these was within feet of Mam," he said, his voice grim.

I leaned back, running a hand through my hair, which felt like a futile attempt to ease the tension crawling under my skin. "We have guards stationed at every corner," I muttered, more to myself than to him. "How could someone get this close without anyone noticing?" My mind was a whirlwind of worry and frustration, each thought more troubling than the last. Could it be whom I think? Is it Jaswant? But he hasn't returned even if he had I have laid traps for him on every way.

He shook his head, equally troubled. "It's almost like the stalker knew our security routes and where to stay out of sight. We’ve tightened patrols, but this is..." He trailed off, not wanting to voice the full weight of the fear hanging in the air.

I stared at the note once more, the mocking words eating at me. Weakest nerve. They knew. They knew how much she meant to me, how I would burn the world to ashes to keep her safe. The very thought of Avni being in danger made my blood boil, and yet it also made my heart pound with an unfamiliar, terrifying helplessness.

Taking a deep breath, I steeled myself. "I want every guard on high alert," I commanded, my voice hard. "Double the patrols around her, and make sure there are eyes on her at all times. We can’t take any risks, not when someone is playing these mind games."

He nodded, but there was still a flicker of doubt in his eyes. I caught it, but I couldn't blame him. It was as if we were fighting a shadow, an enemy that was always one step ahead, and that realization sent a chill down my spine.

"And where is Samarth," I asked to my assistant. It's been five days since he showed up to me and that asshole isn't even picking up phone calls. I have enough people to worry about.

I looked at Arjun, waiting for an answer. When he hesitated, his puzzled expression making me impatient, I crossed my arms and gave him a pointed glare. He quickly cleared his throat, shifting uncomfortably before speaking.
