꧁𓊈𒆜"Chapter Thirteen"𒆜𓊉꧂
Hot.
Lloyd nudged me to the side, his little hands pressing buttons recklessly on the computer like he understood any of it. He wasn't doing a very promising job, but I let him do it anyway. It also wasn't like I trusted myself to do anything right in the crushed mentality I held. If just chosen my brother over my father. My father had left, Lloyd and told him to go. It wasn't that I regretted it. It was Lloyd over anything, but God. I never thought I'd have to make that decision ever. I wondered what my father would be thinking of me now. My mind had me in a chokehold.Nya's worried voice suddenly cut me off from my thoughts, "--Oyd? Ashton? Lord Garmadon? Is anyone there?"
"It's me, Nya. Ash and I are here, but my dad left," Lloyd seemed a bit regretful but then caught the rest of his determination on a thin line, "How are you guys holding on?"
The tone of his voice made me want to throw him into my arms. It seemed like our Father's actions were only ever truly painful, yet I couldn't seem to talk away from it. I don't think I could walk away from it. He wasn't a bad father, at least I didn't think he was. He loved us with everything in him, he just made bad decisions. It was the venom in his blood that was causing him not to act rationally. He was a good father. And why would I want to walk away from all that he gave? All that he promised for us? Walking away from him now would end up making me uncomfortable.
"We're fine, but we're a little held up at the moment. Our weapons have been taken, and we're locked in cages!" She explained, her voice filled with stress.
"And Pythor's returned with the fourth Fangblade," Cole pitched in.
I could hear the fury in his voice, and I could feel my upper lip twitch up because of the same emotion. Pythor was really close to unleashing The Great Devourer.
"Lloyd, where did your father go?" Zane wondered thoughtfully.
Why did he care? Zane had no reason to give a fuck.
"I-I told him to leave, he was trying to steal secrets," Lloyd muttered, tapping his fingers against the side of the work top.
"Oh, big surprise there," Kai scoffed, "I told you there was nothing good about him, but you guys wouldn't listen,"
I clenched my jaw tight. The aim was to stop a comment, but it failed.
"We get it Kai, you were right. But I think we have bigger fucking problems now," I hissed, annoyed by his smartassery.
"Dad's going back to where he came from," Lloyd explained, giving me a side look, "But don't worry, we can save you!"
I looked down at him, shocked with my inclusion. I didn't give a damn that they were being held captive by a bunch of Serpentine and weaponless. But for fucks sake, it wasn't like I could exactly refuse him. And I certainly wasn't letting him go on his own. The kid would get himself killed.
"You are not ready, Lloyd. Your destiny is too great to risk," Wu shut Lloyd’s attempt at help down.
"I hate to break it to you, Sensei, but if we don't get out of here before Pythor unleashes the Great Devourer, I think this will be the end of all our destinies!" Cole huffed, I could almost see the glare on his face pointed to his Master.
