꧁𓊈𒆜"Chapter Eighteen"𒆜𓊉꧂
Race of Power."You failed me," He glared down at me, the red in his eyes burning into my skin.
I shifted uncomfortably.
"Technically, so did the Bizarro--"
His palm struck my cheek, I bit my tongue to hold in a hiss of pain. It was the exact same place where Kai had punched me.
"That's not the point!" He hissed, but then sighed and rubbed his hand over his forehead.
He was stressed, sure, but that didn't give him the right to hit his kid when something didn't go his way.
"I'm sorry for disappointing you Father," I mumbled anyway, hanging my head low.
"Ashton," The tone in his voice made me look up to him, "You didn't disappoint me,"
I frowned. Was this a trick?
"You just upset me. It takes a lot of energy to create something with this weapon. That energy was all for nothing... you upset me Son," Father assured, even giving me an apologetic wince.
My frown twisted deeper.
"I'll try harder next time," I assured, looking up at him.
"I'm sure you will," He nodded, "Now go change out of that colour,"
I let out a breath of relief and nodded back at him, leaving his office and walking down the hall to my room.
A couple Serpentine looked at me with an expression that I didn't recognise, but I ignored them.
The red material looked sickly compared to my skin. Realizing this, I undid the knot on the front and took the fabric off of me as quickly as I could.
My purple Gi had never been so comforting before.
...
I had always loved standing at my Father's side. It gave me a sense of pride, he was powerful, he wanted me next to him. He wanted me to become the person to carry on his legacy.
But sometimes I thought his ideas weren't very smart.
A day ago, he had found out from my information that the Ninja were using a Dojo downtown to train Lloyd.
He used the golden weapon to make his own company called Darnagom, an antonym on his name. Their purpose was to build over the Dojo.
