꧁𓊈𒆜"Chapter Twenty"𒆜𓊉꧂
Doing bad the good way.

After the failure of the mission I was set out to watch be completed, I returned to my Father and got a day's worth of silent treatment as my reward. It saddened me, I only wanted to help us succeed.

When he finally gave in and decided to speak to me, he demanded to know what had happened. I explained as much as I could, how The Ninja knew that Grundle's hated light, how there was a potion that undid the effects and what it did to Lloyd. My Uncle's words floated around my head and what Lloyd said in return staring directly into my soul haunted me.

He shouldn't have had to give up his childhood, it was heartbreaking. Sure, becoming a Ninja would have made him lose his childish ways since he had no time for it, but aging from a 10 year old to however old he was now was a massive leap. No matter what his age was physically, he'd still be the mental age of a 10 year old. His friends would always be younger then him, he'd not be able to do childish things without it looking weird.

His childhood was robbed from him in order to save something just like my childhood was robbed from me in order to destroy something.

At the news of his youngest son growing impeccably quickly, Father made the decision to make the Serpentine our acquaintances again. We travelled to The Lost City of Ouroboros, hoping they wouldn't push us away. It took minimal threatening by my father for the snakes to welcome us back, I knew they didn't like us being there, but I didn't care.

Garmadon's would rule this whole world one day, they needed to get used to us being around.

After telling my father everything I could remember, he was ecstatic when I told him about my powers. He made me try to unlock it again for another three hours and when it didn't work, he decided that it must only work around Lloyd. His eyes lit up at that, something I didn't expect. Did he expect me to hurt that Kid?

He didn't let me know what he was thinking which aggravated me, but I tried my hardest to ignore it. Gathering a few snakes, he made the decision that all I could do for the time being was train and fight, use weapons and not lose to a bunch of Serpentine trying to attack me.

The thought of preparing for the Final Battle made me worried. I was ready to fight the other Ninja, at least I thought I was, but having to face Lloyd and have only one side come out alive was something I hadn't mentally prepared myself for yet.

"More firepower Ashton!" Father called out to me as I jabbed a knife forward and missed one of the snakes, "When we attack the ninja, they won't see it coming. Our forces will be so strong, Ninjago will be mine!"
