I ended up putting Lloyd to bed that night. He had stressed himself out and didn't want to he separated from me. I didn't mind, I'd stay with him forever. I wish I could stay with him forever. Father haf questions that I had no time to answer. This wasn't about him, it was about Lloyd. That kid was struggling with the fact that his family was being ripped apart and he would be involved with the damage to it. He didn't want this. No one wanted this.
When the sun rose, I was already out on the deck, not having slept. What was going to happen to us? We were a family. We were the Garmadons. Were we really going to be torn apart?

Father and Lloyd were all I had ever known known. Now, suddenly all of that was being ripped from us. How could we ever be a proper family if we believed in different things. If we wanted different things.

"We are about to start training. Will that bother you?" Zane knocked me from my thoughts.

"At 8am?" I frowned at him, "No. I don't care,"

They were seriously committed. All I'd be wanting to do was sleep if I were them. But I guess they had their motives. I turned around to watch them, intrigued to see how they practiced. Maybe I could use their own moves against them in the future and have the upper hand.

"There is no room for error. The Serpentine have shown that they have great powers, and to combat them, you must turn their greatest strengths into their greatest weaknesses," Wu slammed his staff down on the wooden deck so hard it rumbled, "Kai, how will you defeat the Hypnobrai?"

Kai, fully prepared, knotted a blindfold around his head and pulled it over his eyes. The red contrasted his skin in a good way. I now knew why he was put in the red Gi.

"Their hypnotizing powers are useless if their opponent can fight without relying on his eyes," He lifted his fists quickly.

I didn't know anyone who could fight blindfolded. That was cool.

"Good," He praised, turning to the Blue one, "Jay, the Fangpyre is fast and his bite sharp,"

"But if he can't bite through your skin..." He grinned smugly, tapping his silver armor, "He can't turn you into one of them,"

"Yes," Wu nodded, "Cole, the Constrictai are strong,"

Then quickly, Wu threw a locked net around the Elemental Master of Earth.

"They will not let go," He continued, watching to momentary struggle in Cole’s face.

"Instead of fighting back," He went lax in the hold, "One must try to loosen up,"

The net loosened at Cole's lack of fight. Enjoying how he escaped so quickly, he kicked at it with his foot.

"Zane, the venom of the Venomari can make you see things. Cloud your perception..." He went onto explain.

"...Then I will use my new Falcon Vision," Zane announced, his expression falling blank before his eyes lit up a light blue and the bird perched on the side squawked.

"Very good. I have trained you well. You are all ready," Sensei Wu smiled proudly.

Then, from the corner of my eye, I spotted a nest of blonde hair. Lloyd was rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. I looked to his outfit and smiled. He really loved that dumb costume I stole for him.
