To start this story, you must learn about the curse. Pay attention now because it's a lot to take in.

It all starts in 'The Town of Broken Dreams'. That's what the outsiders like to call it, but in the village, it is just known as Rosemary cove. It is a peculiar place that is said to be the origin of all things unlucky.

The townsfolk, however, do not view the grounds there as malicious at all. It is a wonderful community that thrives and sustains itself very well. But, of course, all good things come with a cost. The town, you see, is fueled by a malignant curse-a curse destined to destroy the life of anyone who encounters it.

The curse was said to have been locked away centuries ago beneath the earth-directly below the courthouse. No one dares step in without wearing thick-padded shoes. (It's a silly superstition. If the curse wished to emerge, no amount of coverage could protect you from it. Yet, the citizens do so anyway as a form of comfort or relief I suppose.)

It's an untouchable evil that makes the town such a spectacle. Not only is the land the birth place of many myths and legends, but it also houses one of the most extreme dangers of the world. People visit far and wide to see it-to come near it and promptly leave, but no one is allowed to get close.

Truth be told, the curse could be released. There have always been rumors of a vault in the basement of the Courthouse, befit with a door made of pure obsidian and steel. Anyone who could possibly wish to open it would open it with intention. It is no mistake to release such an evil-the evil of "For Evigt Doende", the name of the curse.

Speak one name to the anomaly and it will seek that very person out for eternity. That alone is a terrifying thought. Someone could be cursed for eternity....but that isn't what brings out such fear in the people of the world...no....it is what the curse entails.

The curse itself was most likely manifested as some sort of divine punishment. Maybe for someone so terrible that they truly deserved it. But, a person like that has long since passed because no one alive on this earth deserves this sort of cancer.

The curse is said to steal its victim's life. Sealing it away in itself and forcing the victim into a never ending slumber. They do not sleep in peace though. The curse will torment the soul until the earth and everything about it decays.

In their sleep, the victim will live through endless vivid, surreal lives. They will get all that they need: be loved, love, have love, share love, and then it will all be cut short.

They may be betrayed by their true love, maybe all of their friends, family, children-they may all die. They may be persecuted and ridiculed until their life ends....only to start another one directly after and live through more pain and betrayal again and again and again.

And yet the curse will manipulate them to never give up hope. At the start of each life, they'll look past the sorrows they felt before and try and try and try again only to fail and fail and fail.

They will be filled with constant anguish for eternity yet still be forcefully given a false sense of hope. Only for it all to continue to shatter.

Until they go mad and their brain forces itself to rot away.

That is the curse. That is the cruelty of it.

No one would ever expect something like this to be cast on them. I was one of those people. It couldn't have possibly been me....

But I was awfully and terribly wrong.
