"My allure?" I turned to find Leo but I saw that he had already sat himself on the old couch. "Think of it as a love potion." Leo smiled then raised his eyebrows in slight annoyance, "All of men will be drawn to you."
I almost choked as he spoke and eyed him as if he were crazy. "Don't worry, queenie, it washes off. We only need it for tonight anyway."
"So, random men....are going to be....drawn to me?" I shuddered at the thought but Leo just laughed. "Don't worry, I won't leave your side." I nodded vigorously as the old man moved to grab a brush. He began to style my hair, quite well at that, which was unexpected since his frail hands shook with each movement.
"I used to do this with my daughter," The man smiled as he focused, "She's the one who told me to open this shop." I nodded as I listened. "I'm sure she's proud." I said.
"I hope so." He replied, "She hasn't visited in a while." Laughed to himself, "She's a scholar, you know. So, of course she's very busy. I just hope she knows how much I love her."
I smiled, thinking about my parents and how they used to be. "I'm sure she does." I watched as he delicately swished my hair, "And I bet she thinks the same thing about you."
The man laughed some more. "You're kind." He replied as he applied the finishing touches. "Do you think of your parents often?" He asked.
"Yes," I replied with a low gaze.
"All the time."

We stepped out of the boutique and I couldn't help but notice how tightly Leo held my hand. I looked over to see him already staring at me. My cheeks turned to apples as I smiled tauntingly."Oh, are you drawn to me?" I teased with a flirtatious gaze. Leo grinned before sliding and hand through a strand of my hair. "Maybe." He replied and I felt heat rise all the way up my spine.
"Are you drawn to me?" He asked with a smirk. I pretending to think for a moment. "No." I stated bluntly.
"It's rude to lie." He said, brushing a strand of hair behind my ear. I turned to him for a moment and felt my heart thumping in my ears. He kept his hand where it was and rubbed the tip of my ear until he noticed my gaze.
He jolted away and slammed his arm back to his side. Cleared his throat. "I hope the event's over quick." Was all he said before stalking forward. I could've sworn I saw a bright-red blush along the back of his neck.
"Right," I said to myself silently, "the allure." I carefully walked behind him and reached for his hand. He turned to me for a brief moment before swishing his attention away. "Wow, seems that magic spray even affects Legends." I teased.
Leo grinned a Cheshire grin, taking a moment before he opened his mouth to speak. "You better savor today, my queen." He said in a playful tone, "It might be the only time I'm nice to you."
I rolled my eyes before looking up at the sky. The sun had began to rise.
--------
We made it to the center of town where the streets were still bustling and full of life. The colored torches began to die down but the music hadn't. The man on the pedestal still counted, getting dangerously close to zero now."I've never understood why she chooses to start this thing at dawn." Leo said in annoyance. I turned to him with a slight tilt of my head. "Have you been before?" I asked, staring at his foreign brown hair.
"If you're wondering if it's enjoyable, my queen," He leaned down to my ear, "I'd say, don't get your hopes up."
"Well, you don't find anything fun." I rolled my eyes before meeting his. They were fully covered but I felt like I could still see them. He smiled a strange smile. It was almost endearing. "I have fun with you." He stated but looked like he regretted it immediately as he rushed to straighten himself.
I laughed, silently thanking the allure potion in my mind. I had never seen him so nice before-it was entertaining to hear him say things so out of character.
He quickly cleared his throat and looked away from me. But my hands wrapped around his arm when I noticed people lingering around me as they walked by.
"Leo..?" I slightly shook him as a rather built man approached me. He wore a bright-red mask over his eyes with short locks of ginger hair slightly falling over it. "Hello, I am Marquess Aaron Tennessee," He lifted my hand and placed a kiss along my knuckles. "Never in my life have I seen a woman so beautiful."
I blushed at the sound of his flattering words and began to stumble over some of my own until I saw Leo grab his arm. "Quite a bold introduction," He said, veins popping in his arm, "But, as you can see, the beautiful woman is busy right now."
The man glanced down at our intertwined hands before turning to meet my eyes once more. "Yes, I see..." Leo released his grasp and the man rubbed his wrist. "I will be seeing you at the event , won't I?" His eyes were pleading and entranced. I offered a slight nod and his face instantly lit up with a wide smile. "Splendid." He laughed to himself before reluctantly walking away.
"What am I going to do with you?" Leo mumbled before sliding a small mask out of his pocket. "Forgetting something?"
I gasped at the sight and forced away the flush of embarrassment as I touched my bare face. I must have left it at the boutique.I reached for it but he pulled it away, slightly shook his head and waited for me to put my arm down. He released his other hand from mine and placed it on the mask. He brought it forward and laid it carefully on my face. "Thanks..." I looked down and cleared my throat.
"This won't do." He said with a frown. "How are you still so beautiful with a mask on your face?" He asked, completely and entirely serious.
I cracked a superior smile as I watched him turn and rub his neck in embarrassment. "You know," I started, touching his arm, "I think I quite like this allure." I almost laughed out of amusement.
"Oh, are you that desperate for my attention?" He teased. I frowned and turned away. Even now, he still managed to have the upper hand.
"Five!"
My head whipped around to the collective shout.
"Four!"
The man on the pedestal held his fingers in the air.
"Three!"
Men in beautiful suits began to cuz the chains along Esmeralda hall's entrance.
"Two!"
"Are you ready, queenie?" Leo asked in my ear.
"One!"
The chains fell and the door groaned open.
"Yes." I said.
