"No, no..." I backed away from him and brought myself to my feet. "Tell me you're lying." The back of my knees hit the bed as he stood up from his spot. He shook his head and grinned at me as he slowly stalked my way.

"Tell me you're lying! Tell me you didn't curse me!"

"I'm not going to do that, love." He was before me now and brought his hand up to my face. I smacked it away and scowled at him. "How....how could you?!" My blood was boiling with rage. "Do you have any idea what you put me through?!"

His head was turned down and he stared at the hand that I had swatted away before meeting my eyes again. "Of course I do." He said, I saw his tongue moving along his teeth as he spoke. "But, it doesn't matter to me." His words seemed to stab me in the heart as tears welled in my eyes.

"No....you're not like this!" My voice was desperate and shrill. "But I am." He replied, pushing me down on the bed. "And I always have been. It's your fault for assuming anything different."

My lip quivered as I stared up at him, anger and frustration brewed throughout my body and my face contorted into an expression of deep resentment. "I hate you." I growled but he just shot me a cruel, Cheshire grin.

"Good." He said and I shoved my hands against his chest before rushing past him as he staggered. But, the second I left the room, I was greeted by an army of soulless men and women who all tried to grab onto my arms.

"Take her away from here." I heard Leo lazily command. "I have no use for her anymore." And despite how much I squirmed and thrashed, all of the hands managed to drag me down the stairs and force me out the front door.

I had intended to leave anyway, but not like this. I was being lugged off into the snow against my will as tears streamed down my face. Wasn't it enough that my heart was filled with constant torment and agony? Wasn't it enough that I had suffered endlessly for an entire century? Why did he have to do this to me now? No. Why did he have to cause this? Why did he subject me to this and then have the audacity to make me love him?

I kicked and squirmed one more time, and it seemed to work since they dropped me on the cold, white ground. I turned back and saw the silhouette of the castle in the distance as the soulless humans sauntered towards it.

I slammed my fist into the white powder and threw it as if it made any difference at all. I gripped the skirt of my dress and bawled, but I heard a clamor of hooves in the distance. I looked up and saw torchlight coming my way.

I hastened to my feet, ready to dart away, but then a familiar voice called my name. "Y/n!" He yelled and I felt my legs go numb. I tried to run to him but I tripped as I did. Luckily he caught up and braced me with his arms. "Y/n, what are you doing out here?" He asked as he wrapped his arms around me and rubbed my back to provide some form of warmth.

"Charleon..." I cried, my fingers clutching the fabric of his shirt. "What are you doing here?" I sniffed and looked up at him. He was scowling in the direction of Leo's castle. "I was given word that The Legend had something to give me," He placed his chin atop my head, "I never could've imagined it would be you."

He slide his hands up to my shoulders and moved me back to face him. "Did he throw you out here?" He asked, gesturing to the vast, cold land, "In the snow?" I reluctantly nodded and averted my gaze, ashamed to be accepting Charleon's consolation when I knew I wanted it to be Leo's. But, I should hate him now-and I will. I'll hate him with all of my might.

Charli pulled me close again and removed his overcoat, he placed it over me and walked me to his horse. "How did you get here?" I asked, my eyes searching his as I tried to take my mind off of the current events.

"I was given permission," He glanced around before lifting me on the back of the animal, "I'm assuming there's some sort of magic that conceals this place." He hopped up in front of me and moved my hands to his stomach. "Hold on tight." He commanded and I leaned my tear-stricken face against his back in embarrassment.

"Let's go!" He yelled and all of the other men gathered behind him. The horse galloped off towards some sort of light. I tried to focus my eyes on it, but cold wind blew against them and practically forced them shut.

It was like a hole in the scenery-a crack in the beautiful white canvas. And, just as soon as I saw it, we were charging through it.

In an instant the air turned warm and the sky turned blue and bright. We were on a dry dirt path that led to the shabby town where The Guild resided. I turned back, hoping to get one last look at the castle, but the tear was gone, taking any traces of Leo's magic with it.

"Don't worry, you'll be safe with me." Charleon placed a hand over mine that wrapped around his waist. I nodded slowly, still not fully processing all that had happened.

The horses leisurely walked through the village that I couldn't help but look at with pity. The second we crossed The Guild's gate, however, the ground was refined and the grass was trimmed and the building towered with a pristine shine.

I gulped before Charli brought me inside as the gate slowly creaked open and promptly shut with a loud SLAM.

Leo kicked me out in the cold and left me all alone. All he wanted to do was end his life and, I thought in that moment, that....

Maybe I should let him.
