"What?" I asked as he pressed the crystal bottle into my palm. "I have no doubt she'll try to touch you the second we step inside." He stated as I eyed the bottle.

"Why didn't you give it to me earlier?" I asked as I twisted off the cap. "Because it has certain..." he started as I lifted the bottle to my lips. "Side effects." He said, and I almost threw the bottle away from my mouth but he tilted it forward.

I coughed as the liquid slid down my throat and shuddered from the peculiar flavor. "Side effects?!" I yelled as he pushed me through the canvas door. Not even a second later, it shut behind us and Leo still hadn't given me an answer.

Suddenly, I felt delicate hands along my face and running down my jaw. I almost flinched but time seemed to slow and my vision became blurry.

In the room was a large, plush pink bed with hearts plastered across it as well as the walls. There were torches on either side of the room that illuminated the space, but other than that, it was rather dark.

I tried to focus my eyes on the figure in front of me as a lazy smile unknowing formed on my lips. "You're pretty..." I reached my finger forward to tap Esmeralda's nose. She scoffed and instantly dropped her hands from my face.

"And here I was hoping you had forgotten about that little potion." She stepped backward and plopped on the pink bed. I staggered as I stared at the hearts around the room. I wanted to touch them all. They were so pretty.

I stumbled backward and felt two strong arms catch me and keep me grounded. I turned and looked up to see a brown haired boy without any eyes. "Ugh.." I squinted in disgust.

I heard Esmeralda laughing from where she sat. "Oh, that's gotta be humbling." She grinned. "Humans under that spell find everything pretty." She giggled but I heard the deep voice next to me speak up. "Can we get on with it now?"

"Can she get on with it now?" Esmeralda asked, I could barely make out her finger pointing at me. "Get on with what?" I giggled.

"Just look at her. She doesn't even know where she is right now."

"She can." The voice next to me was firm. I looked up again and squinted at him. He must've noticed me because he slowly pulled off his eye-covering mask.

His hair poofed to dark-red in a flash and his eyes swirled with millions of stars and different galaxies. His skin shined even in the enclosed room-a peculiar blue hue shown off of him.

"Oh, you're pretty!" I reached forward and cupped his face. "Little queen," He said, grasping my hands and pulling them off of him. "Focus, do you remember what you're supposed to do?"

Focus. Focus. What I'm supposed to do....what am I supposed to do? No, no, I know this. I need to find a book. I think I need to find a book-a pretty, pretty book.

"Book?" I tilted my head until it almost made me fall. He bent to catch me and I used that opportunity to poke his nose and lean into his chest. "Such a pretty face~" I said but he pushed me off of him once more. "Little queen-"

"Little queen?" Esmeralda's voice spoke up from her silent corner. "Don't tell me you've grown attached to this thing?" I heard her step forward. "You've even given her a nickname."

"I could give you a nickname too." Leo said passive aggressively but Esmeralda just scoffed. "I'll pass." She turned to me and grinned. "Let's hurry and get on with it. I might just eat her up if she stays here any longer." Her finger tilted my chin and I rested all of my head's weight on it.

"I'd like that." I said, not knowing what I was saying at all. I heard Leo scoff before grabbing my hand and pulling a dagger from his boot. He ran a knife along my palm, but I was too delirious to flinch. "Ouch." I said, a little delayed.
