It had been two weeks since Ena began working at the bakery, and in that time, her life had settled into a new rhythm. Each morning, she would attend university classes, her steps growing heavier with the toll of her ongoing chemotherapy sessions. The sessions left her feeling increasingly weak and fatigued, but she persevered, driven by the necessity to cover her mounting medical bills.
Despite her efforts, she struggled to pay off the hospital bills in full, opting instead to settle them in installments. The financial strain was compounded by the relentless side effects of her treatment, which had left her physically deteriorated. Her once vibrant demeanor was now overshadowed by the visible signs of illness.
Her relationship with Jungkook had entered a tense but peaceful phase. The arguments that once marked their interactions had ceased, replaced by a strained silence. However, there was a semblance of routine; they would occasionally share meals together, and Jungkook would sometimes pick her up from the bakery. These moments, though infrequent, were a small comfort amidst the turmoil.
Mornings started early for Ena as she juggled her academic commitments with her part-time job at the bakery. The bakery had become a crucial part of her struggle for financial stability. Despite the exhaustion that weighed heavily on her, she maintained a facade of normalcy, determined to keep moving forward.
The quiet routine of her days was a stark contrast to the tumultuous emotions she harbored inside. Each day was a balancing act, a constant struggle to manage the pain, the exhaustion, and the fractured relationship with Jungkook. Yet, amidst the challenges, Ena remained resilient, driven by a fierce determination to overcome her circumstances and rebuild her life.

Warm lights bathed the room in a golden glow, highlighting the rows of pastries, cakes, and fresh bread that lined the shelves. The soft hum of the ovens and the gentle clinking of utensils created a cozy atmosphere.
But this serene scene was about to turn into a nightmare.
In the back room, Ena was crouched over the sink, clutching her stomach. The pain from her recent chemotherapy sessions had intensified, and she felt nauseous. Sweat trickled down her face as she tried to steady her breathing. She knew she should've asked for a break.
A sudden, acrid smell filled the air, mingling with the sweet scent of baked goods. Sparks danced from the oven's faulty wiring, and before long, a small fire began to lick at the edges of the kitchen.
As Ena staggered to the washroom, clutching her side, she felt her vision blur. She slumped against the wall, succumbing to the darkness that began to close in around her.
As the fire began to engulf the entire shop, Ena, still half-conscious, noticed the flames spreading rapidly. Panic set in as she tried to get back on her feet, desperate to escape. However, her nauseous state and low blood pressure made it impossible. She crawled toward a more open area, but the whole bakery was ablaze, with everyone else evacuated while she was unconscious.
Fear and desperation overtook her as she weakly screamed, "Help me!" Tears streamed down her face as she coughed from the thick smoke filling her lungs. Her condition worsened, and she cried out again, "Is somebody there!? Please, help me! I'm here," her voice cracking with despair. "Please," she begged, the smoke overwhelming her.
In the midst of this chaos, Jungkook burst into the shop, coughing and calling out for Ena. "Ena! Where are you?" His voice echoed through the burning building as he frantically searched for her.
________________________________________Outside, Jungkook had driven to the bakery, planning to visit Ena with a pick-up. He had been concerned about her somehow, not knowing her recent health issues. His heart raced with anticipation as he approached the bakery.
