Ena was ready at 9, her anticipation building as she waited for Jungkook to pick her up for Jimin's party. When Jungkook finally arrived, he stepped into the room, his eyes widening slightly as he took in her appearance. Clearing his throat, he managed to ask, "Are you ready?"
"Uh, yes," Ena responded, glancing at herself and giving a nod.
"Alright, I'll wait in the car," Jungkook said quickly, retreating as his heart raced uncontrollably.
As they drove to Jimin's house, the silence in the car was heavy with unspoken words. Jungkook's eyes frequently darted towards Ena, who was stunning in a black off-shoulder dress and matching heels, her smoky makeup accentuating her elegance. He found himself swallowing hard, struggling to maintain his composure.
Finally, he broke the silence. "You look good," he complimented, his voice betraying a hint of nervousness.
Ena, caught off guard by the sincerity in his voice, stammered, "Uh, well..." She was momentarily lost for words, her surprise evident.
----------As they arrived at Jimin's new apartment, Ena's eyes widened in admiration at the spaciousness and stylish decor. The place was bustling with guests, and the atmosphere was lively.
Jimin spotted them from across the room and hurried over. "Ena! Welcome! I was waiting for you. Oh my god, you look beautiful!" he exclaimed, his excitement genuine.
"Congratulations on your new place," Ena responded, smiling warmly.
"Come on, I'll get you a drink," Jimin said, taking Ena's hand and leading her away. "Suit yourself, gentleman," he added with a playful grin at Jungkook before disappearing into the crowd with Ena.
Jungkook chuckled watched them go, muttering "Bastard" under his breath. With a resigned sigh, he made his way towards his mutual friends, trying to blend into the social whirl of the party.
Jimin, with a wide smile, handed Ena a glass filled with a colorful cocktail. "Here, have this," he offered enthusiastically.
Ena hesitated, glancing at the drink before meeting Jimin's expectant gaze. "I'm sorry, Jimin," she said gently, her voice steady but apologetic. "I haven't had alcohol in a long time, so could I have a soft drink instead?"
Jimin's smile faltered momentarily, but he quickly recovered, nodding with understanding. "Of course! I'll get you something else," he assured her, his tone accommodating. He set the cocktail down on a nearby table and gestured towards the bar. "Just a moment."
As Jimin moved off to fetch the soft drink, Ena felt a mixture of relief and slight embarrassment. She looked around, taking in the vibrant atmosphere of the party, and tried to blend in with the crowd, her earlier discomfort fading into the background.
Jimin returned with a glass of lemonade, presenting it with a dramatic flourish. "Here's your lemonade, madam," he said with a playful bow.
Ena took the drink with a grateful smile, her earlier embarrassment now replaced by a sense of ease. As she sipped the refreshing lemonade, she and Jimin continued their lively conversation, their animated exchange punctuated by laughter and shared stories.
Amidst their chatter, a tall man approached, his face breaking into a friendly grin. "Jimin, congratulations!" David exclaimed, extending a hand in greeting. His gaze then shifted to Ena. "And who's this beautiful lady? I haven't seen her around before."
Jimin's eyes sparkled with pride. "This is Ena," he introduced her, his smile widening. "She's been a good friend for quite a while."
Ena's cheeks flushed slightly at the compliment, and she offered David a warm smile. "Nice to meet you, David."
