The Merge: Part 2

"Lloyd the Green Ninja!" Arin said excitedly, recognising him with a grin, "Yes! I knew you were all still out there!" "Where is the ninja I saw?" Lloyd asked, looking around our cell from his vantage point on the train roof, "The one doing the spinjitzu on the bridge?" "Actually, that was  Arin here," Sora told him, gesturing to my brother  to Lloyd's clear surprise. "And even though I might pass out right now 'cause you actually thought I was a real ninja," Arin said happily, "I'm not even close." However, a Claw of Imperium member then kicked Lloyd down into our cell before he spun around, sword prepared as the guard jumped down after him, activating an energy blade. Lloyd then dodged multiple swings from the guard before using spinjitzu to knock the guard to the ground after jumping over his blade, spinning his sword with practised ease. "I kinda get your ninja fandom now," Sora admitted to us with a grin as we nodded in agreement. "You haven't seen anything yet," I replied, sending a cheeky grin at Lloyd, "After all, the Fire Ninja's way cooler than him." "Hey!" Lloyd yelled back, clearly insulted as Sora and Arin snickered, "No jokes, hold up your cuffs." We did so as the Claw member rushed at Lloyd again, the pair entering a blade lock, allowing Lloyd to force the guard's blade down through Arin's cuffs. Then when the guard attempted another attack, he grabbed and spun the guard around, his blade slicing through Sora and my cuffs in quick succession. "Thanks for your help," Lloyd told the guard with a smile, tossing him into the back wall of the carriage, knocking him out.

Lloyd then turned to us as we got up, sending me an amused smirk as I chuckled sheepishly. "Ok fine, maybe Kai isn't more awesome than you," I accepted as Lloyd nodded happily in agreement, slightly smug, "Here, Arin has something for you." Lloyd turned to my brother, noticing the mask in his hands. "Is that my mask?" Lloyd asked Arin in surprise. "We-We found it when you disappeared," Arin explained, "We were there when the Merge happened." Arin passed the mask to Lloyd. "You rescued me and my brother and-" Arin continued, only to be cut off by a sound of disgust from Lloyd when he smelled the stench coming from his old mask. It did admittedly smell disgusting from years of not being washed - like mouldy cheese and old feet. "When did you last wash this?" Lloyd asked Arin, disgusted. "You can wash them?" Arin asked, shocked as Sora placed her hand on her face, shaking her head. "YES!" I replied, irritated, "I told you that! Multiple times!" "Uh..." Arin mumbled, embarrassed before nodding sheepishly, "Oh, yeah, you did." Lloyd slid the mask into his back pocket with a sigh before looking back at us, hands together. "Come on, I'll give you a boost," He offered. "No need," I replied, pulling out my grappler and firing it up to the roof as Arin did the same, flying out with an excited "Wooh!" "Huh, show offs," Sora chuckled as Lloyd gave her a leg up, climbing onto the roof behind us as I pulled her up. "What do we do now, Master Lloyd?" Arin asked Lloyd after he got out of the carriage. "I'm no master. I'm just Lloyd," Lloyd replied, "And to answer your question, we jump!" "No!" Sora and I argued, "We can't leave the dragon!" "There's a dragon here too?" Lloyd asked in surprise. "No one escapes from Rapton!" Rapton declared furiously as he came to a stop behind us with two other Claws, one on each side of him, weapon in hand. "Huh? What's a 'Rapton'?" Lloyd asked him, confused. "Me!" He yelled back furiously as he activated his energy sword, "I am Rapton!" "What?" Lloyd repeated, holding a hand to his ear to better understand. "I AM RAPTON!" Rapton roared back in anger, utterly furious now. "Why do bad guys always feel the need to speak in the third person?" Lloyd asked us, sounding tired of it as the guard he beat in our carriage jumped onto the roof while another climbed onto our carriage.

"I can take these guys," I said confidently, running towards the pair with a leaping kick, knocking the first guard off the train before Arin dealt with the second, only to almost tumble off the train as he struggled to regain his balance. "That was him," Lloyd said, awed as he looked after us, "Who'd he train under?" Lloyd asked Sora as I grabbed the weapon of the guard I'd dealt with, firing it at another guard and knocking him off the train. "Arin taught himself," Sora replied proudly as Lloyd had to duck under a misfired shot from Arin's stolen Imperium weapon. "Sorry!" Arin yelled sheepishly. "Spinjitzu was the single most important ninja technique. It took me years to learn it with an incredible teacher," Lloyd told Sora as they watched me duel one of the Claw members with an energy sword, "That shouldn't be possible." "Well, he's not the only one with skills," Sora replied, pulling up her hood, "I just learned I can do this!" Sora jumped forward, hands towards Rapton and the Claws next to him as they rushed towards the pair, stopping as Rapton fearfully covered his face with one hand. But nothing happened. "Was something supposed to happen?" Lloyd asked Sora in confusion. "So...Something's wrong," Sora replied nervously, "It worked before." "Got anything else?" Lloyd asked hopefully. "Get them!" Rapton yelled to the Claws with him, rushing towards Lloyd and Sora, his sword crashing against Lloyd's.
