The Power Within

"It works!" Beatrix yelled madly, clearly pleased as lightning struck the ground from within the Mergequake as it ripped apart the sky. "Come on!" Rapton groaned, seeing the Mergequake in the sky, "Beatrix got her Mergequake weapon online? She's gonna destroy us all!" "Aaah! The Empress has such incredible flare for the dramatic!" Dorama replied excitedly from where he was still handcuffed on the ground, not understanding the danger whatsoever. "You're gonna be destroyed too, you washed-up clown!" Rapton and I yelled at him, infuriated. "Wait, did I just agree with him?" We both questioned, looking at each other in horror. "Oh," Dorama said, shocked, finally understanding what Beatrix was causing, "It appears I did not think this whole thing through." "It's not over yet, Rapton," Sora assured him. "Yeah, not sure what you know about ninja, but we never quit," Arin declared firmly, nodding to Sora and I before we raced over to the elevator to reach the bottom of the broadcast tower so we could stop Beatrix.

"Empress, you don't wanna do this!" Lloyd warned Beatrix as he, Nya and Zane stood before the mad Empress in her mech in front of the Advanced Systems Lab. "If you continue to use that weapon, you will push the Mergequakes to the tipping point!" Zane explained. "It will create an unstoppable Mergequake storm that will destroy all of reality!" Nya added. "Lies!" Beatrix spat back, drawing the mech's sword from it's back, "You just want my power for yourselves! But my destruction of you ninja will be legendary!" She fired a wave of energy from her sword, knocking the three ninja back as Beatrix jumped down from the stairs of the lab, raising her new Mergequake-causing cannon as she glared at the rebelling Imperium citizens. "And all you traitors to your Empress! You are no better than the ninja! No one shall rule this Kingdom but me! And I will destroy everyone who stands in my way!" Beatrix declared furiously, activating the cannon as the Dragon Energy Cores glowed with yellow light, firing a blast which opened a Mergequake behind a pair of citizens, who screamed in terror as they were sucked inside. "Move!" Lloyd yelled, the three ninja dashing away as Beatrix opened another Mergequake behind where the three had just been, continuing to fire after them as the Mergequakes sucked in many fleeing citizens as they screamed in panic, Beatrix laughing crazily. "Behold my true power!" Beatrix yelled madly, continuing to fire the weapon in every direction, opening more rifts in reality. "The Empress has lost it!" One citizen yelled, turning around and screaming as she fled. Meanwhile, Sora and I were helping the citizens fleeing as we tried to reach Beatrix and the ninja, unaware that Sora's parents had noticed her, and were intending to follow us. "Beatrix has really gone off the deep-end," Kai noted as he, Wyldfire, Sora, Arin and I regrouped with Lloyd, Nya and Zane as the mad woman continued randomly blasting her weapon around, cackling maniacally, "What are we gonna do?" "What we do best. Ninja go!" Lloyd declared as we jumped over the debris we were using as cover, racing into the seemingly hopeless battle.

Kai, Lloyd and Wyldfire attempted to disable the mech by throwing their elements at it, but it continued to prove impervious to Elemental Energy as Sora, Arin and I rushed in on one side while Nya and Zane attacked from the other. Drawing the mech's sword, Beatrix fired a wave of energy at each of our three groups, ceasing our advance as we jumped away to dodge the waves. "Eat flame!" Wyldfire screamed furiously, lighting a hand on fire as she threw another fireball at the Empress, having jumped over the energy wave to avoid it. However, Beatrix merely fired another blast from her weapon, forming a Mergequake that both absorbed the fireball but also pulled in Wyldfire. "Wyldfire! No!" Kai yelled in horror, rushing forward to make the Empress pay as he dodged two fired Mergequakes, only to be tossed aside by a strike from her sword.

"Her fate shall be all of yours! Blasted out of existence!" Beatrix declared, firing another volley from her Mergequake weapon as Sora, Arin and I jumped away from one that landed right behind us. "We gotta get that weapon from her!" Lloyd said as he and Arin took cover behind a large plant pot. "I got this," Arin replied, pulling out his grappler, only for the plant pot to be sucked in, the force pulling Arin off his feet as Lloyd held him back from falling in too. However, the grappler was sucked in as Lloyd pulled Arin back onto his as they ran away. Sora and I meanwhile rushed around a corner to meet back up with Zane. "I cannot determine how to get in her proximity to disarm her," Zane told us, unsure what to do as Sora and looked back around the corner off our hiding space to see the Empress continuing to madly fire her weapon in every direction as her citizens fled in fear. "Who says we need to get close? Sora, if Ryu gives you a burst of power, couldn't you dismantle the weapon from here?" I asked her. "Sure," Sora agreed, looking around to see him beside Kai, "Ryu! Let's do our thing!" Sora and I rushed over towards Ryu so that she could get her elemental spark, only for Beatrix to fire a blast directly behind the tiny dragon, sucking him in to our horror.
