It took us a few days to reach the clear blue skies beyond the Kingdom of Madness as Arin and I walked over to check on Ryu, who was sleeping on the deck, clearly exhausted. "Little guy's still exhausted," I told Arin quietly, not wanting to disturb the little dragon, "He used a lot of energy back there." "Totally exhausted," Arin agreed as we walked across the deck to the steering area to talk to Lloyd, Nya and Kai while Sora worked on the mech. "Saving a kingdom of magical mud-eating rock monsters will do that," Lloyd replied. "So you're telling me this dragon can like 'spark' or something? Then Sora can use her Elemental Power?" Kai asked Lloyd, still confused over the idea. "If I even have a power," Sora argued, taking off her welding mask as she stopped her work to look up at him, "It might be all Ryu. You saw how he powered up that mud field." "We've gone over this, you have a power," Lloyd assured her confidently, "Ryu just soups it up." "'Souping up' isn't how dragons work, is it?" Nya argued, "That's weird, right?" "Everything's been weird since the Merge happened," Lloyd replied, "As far as I know, no one's ever taught themselves spinjitzu before? But then the Merge hits and suddenly - boom."

"Wouldn't someone have had to though? I mean, the First Spinjitzu Master created the art, so he couldn't have been taught," I pointed out logically, the three ninja nodding in agreement. "Yeah, but that's the First Spinjitzu Master," Kai argued, still shocked, "You really learned spinjitzu, by yourself, Arin? No Master Wu morning breath?"  "Yeah, but it's a kind of shaky, basic form of spinjitzu," Arin argued. "Arin, that shaky basic spinjitzu is still better than any of us could do when we started out," Lloyd told us. "We were just trying to figure out all the moves we'd seen you do," Arin explained, performing some on the deck next to me, "Which is why I don't get why bro can't do it too. We're kinda ninja fans." "Kinda?" Sora and I repeated, raising our eyebrows. "You once had a barber give you 'The Zane'," I reminded him, putting quotation marks around the last words with my hands, "It did not go well," I added to them in a mock whisper, Sora grinning in agreement as the three ninja laughed. "Of course not. He should've gotten 'The Kai'," Kai scoffed, stroking his hair cockily as Nya crossed her arms, rolling her eyes. "Please, even you shouldn't get 'The Kai,'" Nya retorted, whispering the last part for extra emphasis, causing Lloyd to chuckle, "And you think this is all tied to these Mergequake things?"

"Maybe," Lloyd replied with a shrug, "Mergequakes are like aftershocks of the original Merge, where two realms try to occupy the same space. Elemental powers shut them down, but they're happening more often." "That's why I went searching for help," Kai told her as Arin and I practised our moves behind them, "If we don't stop the Mergequakes, they could destroy everything." Just as Kai finished, Arin punched himself in the face, drawing their amusement before becoming serious again. "Wow. So we've really got our work cut out for us," Nya said, concerned, "when we get back to Ninjago City." "Speaking of cities," Lloyd added, looking through the clouds as they dispersed to reveal a floating city made from white walls and golden circular roofs. Arin, Sora, Ryu and I ran to the front of the Bounty to get a closer look, gasping in awe. "The Cloud Kingdom," Kai recognised with a gasp, "Whoa." "Why wasn't this here on our way out?" I wondered, confused. "It's a floating kingdom. Maybe it drifted into our path?" Lloyd suggested as Arin sighed in relief at how peaceful it looked. "Looks relaxing here. I could really get used to this," Arin admitted. However, as the Bounty sailed further, going into the city, the boat began rocking, quickly growing more violent. "Uh, anyone else feel that?" Kai asked uncertainly as he tried to steady himself, Lloyd turning the thrusters back so we could quickly leave the city, only for one of the tower roofs to collapse, falling down towards the ship. "Relaxation is cancelled!" Arin yelled, panicking as the roof fell straight towards us.

Fortunately Lloyd was able to quickly turn the ship so the roof only bumped into the side, shaking the Bounty. "Help!" A woman screamed from the now open roof of the tower as Kai and Nya turned to see two monks hanging from the side of the tower. The pair nodded to each other, using spinjitzu to reach the tower. "Don't worry, we got you - Ah!" Kai yelled as he attempted to pull one of the monks up, only for the tower to shake again, throwing the four off the ledge. Arin and I quickly used our grappling hooks, swinging out to grab the monks, Kai and Nya as we all tumbled to the deck of the ship. "Way impressive, you two. Very ninja," Kai complimented as Arin's face lit up. "And Kai rarely admits to being impressed," Nya added as she sat up.
