It was the next day after the Crossroads Carnival and we were training once again at the crack of dawn. Sora and I had managed to drag her motorcycle up the mountain so she could attempt to use her powers on it while Lloyd had Arin and I working through parts of the assault course. Ryu was chasing a butterfly. "Uh, ugh! Oh," Sora groaned in frustration, reaching out her hands in an attempt to activate her powers and use them on the bike without Ryu's aid, "Come on! Ugh, argh! Uh, weird powers. Why won't you work now?" Meanwhile Arin and I were standing with Lloyd in front of the training course, looking down a bamboo balance beam as two huge metal blocks swung across it. "I can do this. This, I can do," Arin murmured, trying to sike himself up but clearly nervous as he pulled up his hood, dashing down the balance beam and using his spinjitzu to reach the top of the first pillar and jumping across them. However, he then jumped on the spinner, quickly falling down and being smashed repeatedly between it and the next pillar as Lloyd dashed in, using spinjitzu to get him out quickly as I ran over, concerned. "You okay, bro?" I asked. "Yeah, I'm fine, Tarim," He assured me, "Thank you Master - I mean, Lloyd. I really thought I could do it, but I forgot something. I'm the worst student in the history of students." "The worst?" I repeated, unimpressed, "Arin, I can't even do spinjitzu. You're doing better than I am, so stop putting yourself down. You have the skills to succeed. Unlike me," I added softly. "He's right, Arin," Lloyd nodded in agreement, not catching the last part, "I mean, let me tell you about the time my friend Jay, you know, the Lightning Ninja, trained in the South Wing." "The Monastery doesn't have a South Wing," Arin pointed out, confused. "Not after Jay trained in it," Lloyd agreed, chuckling as he imitated an explosion. "And remember what you did with that horn against Dorama's robot, bro? You were able to give it spinjitzu power! You have potential to do things others can't, things never thought possible," I encouraged, causing Arin's smile to widen further. "You  taught yourself spinjitzu completely on your own," Lloyd continued, "Totally unheard of. But you have to unlearn some of the stuff you taught yourself, Arin. To relearn a more... balanced approach. And Tarim, don't put yourself down. You have the skills to fight like a great ninja. You'll learn spinjitzu in time." "Really?" Arin and I asked hopefully, regaining our excitement while Sora simply dropped her hands in defeat.

"Well I don't need to unlearn anything, because I never learned anything in the first place," Sora grumbled hopelessly, "This Elemental Power stuff is impossible." "It took me a long time to tap into my potential. But I did. And you will too," Lloyd encouraged her, but Sora still looked dejected. "I'm not even sure I have an Elemental Power," Sora argued, "I mean, Tech Power?" "I haven't heard of it either," Lloyd admitted, "But I've been studying elemental power all my life. Trust me, the power's inside of you," Lloyd assured her as I placed a comforting hand on Sora's shoulder. "No, I'm pretty sure they're Ryu's powers, and I just like, borrow them, or something," Sora denied as Ryu ran up to her. "If that was the case, explain why the Matriarch Dragon only supercharged Lloyd's powers instead of giving him new ones," I argued, Lloyd nodding in agreement, "The power is inside of you Sora, it'll just take time to find. No one starts as a Master of anything right from the beginning." "Hmum," Lloyd hummed in agreement, "He's right Sora. I don't know why Dragon energy enhances Elemental Powers, but I agree with Tarim. When I connected with the Matriarch, those were my powers, not hers."

"So then, if this power is in me... why can't I feel it?" Sora asked. "Well..." Lloyd started, "Every Elemental Master is different. Cole could feel the power of Earth in his guts," Lloyd said, making a motion with his hands near his stomach, "Nya says the power of water flowed through her veins," He continued, performing wave-like movements, "Zane could sense ice power in his mind," He added, raising a hand to his head. However Ryu's screeching interrupted Lloyd from continuing as we looked up to see the young dragon sitting on one of the walls looking up into the sky. "What's got Ryu so worked up?" Sora wondered as Arin used his grappling hook to fly up onto the wall, Lloyd following with spinjitzu. Sora sighed, going to follow the normal way with a ladder, but I stopped her with a hand on her shoulder. "Need a lift?" I offered my hand which Sora took with a slight blush as I took us up to the roof with my grapple.
