"Lloyd!" Nya said, coming to a stop behind him as Sora, Arin and I continued back to our quarters now that the assassin was dealt with, "I saw Jay." "What?" Lloyd asked, turning around in shock, "Where?" "He went south, but I lost him in the crowd. Come on," Nya told him as the pair both rushed off in the direction she had seen him. "Did he see you?" Lloyd asked as the pair came to a halt, not seeing the Blue Ninja anywhere. "No, and I didn't see his face, but I'm sure it was him. I think. Huh, I don't know," Nya sighed sadly, "Maybe I'm just seeing things. Jay's been missing since the Merge. I miss him so much." "We all do," Lloyd replied sadly, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder as they turned and walked back to our quarters.

"I know Zan-Tans," Arin told us as he and I both worked at a punching pillar in our quarters the next morning, "He doesn't have a cruel bone in his body." "He's a Mucoid, Arin. He doesn't have any bones in his body," I deadpanned, causing Arin and Sora to chuckle slightly, though Sora also sent me a look of confusion and worry, causing me to look to the ground with an irritated frown. "Yeah, fair, but that's not the point," Arin reminded me. "I don't believe he was behind the attacks last night either," Sora agreed, "But then, who was?" "My guess, the same person who's responsible for the attacking the Matriarch," Arin replied, "And his name rhymes with paws. Ras, I'm talking about Ras." "Yeah, we gathered that," Sora accepted, not looking impressed by Arin's poor joke, "But Ras was also attacked last night."

"But Ras is cunning, Sora. I wouldn't put it past him to order an assassination of himself with a defective bot. That way, he's not in any real danger, and throws off any suspicion," I pointed out, Arin nodding in agreement. "Right. Uh, man, this whole mystery solving stuff is hard. Our parents were so good at this. They'd probably solve this thing in a day," Arin moaned. "Have you asked the other ninja for help?" Sora suggested, only to jump slightly at the glares we both sent her. "No!" We both snapped back. "Lloyd made this our mission," I explained, softening the glare with an apologetic look, "If we can't compete in this tournament, we need to prove our worth by solving this mystery." "Yeah, the safety of the Source Dragon's is at stake," Arin agreed slightly angrily, "Come on bro, Ryu. Time to hunt for some clues." Ryu gave a growl of agreement as he followed after us, Sora frowning as she watched us leave. "You're not the only ones with a mystery to solve today," Sora murmured before sneaking out herself.

"The attacker must have come through here last night, you two," Arin reminded us as we stood at the spot we had stopped the attacker bot, looking around, "We need to try and retrace that bot's steps." "You find something?" I asked hopefully as Ryu gave an excited growl, sniffing at the ground, "Did you find the same scent from the attacker last night?" "If we can figure out where the attacker came from, maybe we can figure out who sent them," Arin suggested hopefully, only for Ryu to lead us down a dead end, "Dead end." "Wait," I said, pointing out a curled serpent-like dragon marking on the wall, "Some kind of symbol has been stamped on the wall. Maybe this is a clue to whoever sent the attacker bots." "I'll copy it down," Arin replied, opening the book in his hands and noting down the symbol on one of the pages. "Guys!" Frak greeted as he came down the street, smiling at us, "What are you up to?" "Oh, Frak," Arin greeted nervously, "Bro, Ryu and I were just, well, it's complicated ninja business." "Oh, do you know how cool it is that you get to say that?" Frak asked, clearly awed, "My Master's been training me hard, but I'm taking a break to grab a pie. Interested?" "We might know a dragon who's up for a pie. Or ten," I replied, Ryu looking slightly sheepish as his stomach growled loudly, "Let's go."

"I can't believe what that Zant-Tans guy tried to pull last night," Frak admitted to us, as we finished grabbing our pie and walked off, Ryu tossing the dish of his pie back at the stand, "Attacker bots, really? Scary, right?" "We don't think Zant-Tans was behind it," Arin argued, "He doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. The guy's frightened by sharp edges on tables." "But Tarim, you said that thorn could only come from Zant-Tans home. So he's the only one who could do it," Frak pointed out. "Yeah, I suppose," I accepted, frowning, "But from what Arin's told me, he really doesn't seem the type to send attacker bots after people." "So, how did you both hook up with the ninja?" Frak asked, curious, "And do you freak out about it everyday?" "Me, not so much anymore. The first few months, yeah, but you get used to them after a while," I replied nonchalantly, "Arin though..." "Yeah, I still freak out pretty much everyday," Arin agreed with a grin, "We met Lloyd with Sora while trying to save Ryu here from Dragon Hunters. It's been a dream come true, but it's a lot of work. Training can be hard." "Tell me about it," Frak replied, "You have to meet my Master. I was so clueless and scared by my powers. And he really helped me out." "Wow, he sounds awesome," Arin said, impressed. "Yeah, if you think he's a great guy, then we need to meet," I agreed, "You've always been a good judge of character." "Thanks man," Frak replied with a grin as we stopped at the square, spotting Wyldfire in front of us.
