We were back in the Crossroads without Nya. Rapton was currently chasing a lightning dragon through the scrapyard on his hovercraft, flanked by other members of the Claws of Imperium as they chased. "Don't let it escape!" Rapton commanded, raising his blaster as he and the other Claws opened fire on the dragon as it roared back, smacking one of the Claws away with his tail. "You clown! Watch-" Rapton started to scold the man, only to be sent back in a spin by a blast of lightning from the dragon's mouth before it continued away. "After it!" Rapton demanded, sending a pair of drones and remaining Claws after the beast while spinning to intercept at the other end of the junkyard, "I'll cut it off." Rapton ultimately managed to drag it to the ground with a lasso around the mouth as the drones distracted it with laser fire. "Stubborn breeder," Rapton insulted as the other Claws arrived and started firing on it, "Hold the beast!" The Claws quickly obeyed, wrapping its legs with more lassoos as the dragon struggled in their grasp before its head dropped to the ground. "Coming through!" Arin and I yelled as we swung across the junkyard, gaining the Claws attention as we dodged their fire before jumping behind a junk pile. "We interrupting something?" Lloyd asked from the top of the pile as he tossed his sword, down, knocking Rapton's energy weapon from his hand, freeing the dragon's mouth as it fired an electric blast at Rapton who was sent flying back into a junk pile, destabilising it as a car wobbled precariously. "Argh! Deploy the drones!" Rapton commanded, only for the front of his craft to be smashed into the ground by the car as it fell, blocking his view. The drones charged in, Lloyd knocking one to the ground with his sword before sending another to the ground with his powers as the rest converged in front of the dragon.

"Let's free that dragon!" I yelled as Sora, Arin, Kai, Ryu and I arrived, rushing forward as we started fighting off the drones as Lloyd and I knocked down the Claws holding the dragon in place with their lassoes. "Not bad kid," Kai admitted to Arin, only to wince as he hit himself in the face attempting to attack a drone, "Uh, you should probably work on that." Rapton meanwhile had crawled out of his hovercraft as the Claws retreated into the scrap pile, Kai and Lloyd lowering their hoods while Sora jumped down from her mech to console the dragon. "Shh, it's gonna be okay," Sora assured the injured beast, holding its head gently. However, Rapton then stalked back over, holding a black device formed from many hexagons and a controller in his hands, tossing the device up as he pressed the trigger, causing it to open as a humongous golden wolf beast was formed to our shock, roaring. The beast charged towards us as Sora's eyes widened in horror. "It's just a hologram," Kai said, crossing his arms confidently. "No, it's not," Sora replied, shaking her head in fear as the beast smashed Kai back, roaring furiously. Kai quickly got back up as we all charged the machine, only for me, along with Kai and Lloyd's elemental powers to bounce straight off it, forcing the pair to dodge as Rapton attempted to free his craft from under the car as we fled. Kai once again attempted to use his powers, but they once again deflected off the beast's snout. "Is this thing indestructible?" Kai questioned, horrified before turning to follow the rest of us in fleeing, "Not fair, buddy! Not fair!" The beast dashed after us as we continued to flee, snarling.

"What even is that thing?" I asked Sora, equally horrified and awed, "It's a masterpiece. Terrifying, sure, but it looks like an amazing piece of tech." "Any other time, I'd be flattered," Sora replied as we raced away, "As for what it is, it's a Photac. A digitally generated techno-beast composed of hard light." We turned a corner as the beast smashed into the scrap as it couldn't as quickly turn the corner but instantly resumed the chase. "How do you know that?" Arin asked in confusion, "And why'd you say you'd be flattered any other time?" "Because when I lived in Imperium, I invented it," Sora admitted as we ran to hide behind a pile of junk, the beast searching for us before jumping away, its roar alone knocking down a car above us and forcing us to jump away. Arin landed in front of it, the rest of us running around to back him up. "We can fight it if we stick together. Come on!" Arin encouraged as we rushed at the beast, ducking under it as it turned back to glare at us, jumping us Kai shot another fireball, once again deflecting off its side as it landed behind us in a crouch. The beast roared at us as we looked over to see the Lightning Dragon trapped by energy rope between a group of drones as it was quickly carried away. "No!" Sora yelled in horror as we ran over to help, but the dragon was already being carried off into the air, Rapton flying behind in his hovercraft as he laughed. "Let's go!" Rapton ordered, laughing, "Wow, that Photac is incredible!" Rapton turned back in our direction, firing off a stream of missiles, dropping a pile of junk and forcing us to jump apart as a dust cloud was raised, giving him an opportunity to escape. "Great. What do we do now?" Kai asked, as we regrouped, pulling down his hood as Sora glared off in the direction the Claws had left. "I don't know about we, but I know what I have to do," Sora replied resolutely, "I created that thing. I have to be the one to destroy it." "But you said it was indestructible," I pointed out, Sora turning around to look at Arin and I, "How can anyone destroy it?" "I have to go back to Imperium," Sora replied grimly.
