"Ugh, do you know what time it is?" Cinder groaned, irritated as we banged on the door of Ras' team's housing, wearing a pink sleep mask and clearly exhausted, "Trying to get my beauty sleep here. Boss! Bunch of jerks who apparently don't care about my beauty sleep here to see you." Ras stepped out at that, standing in the doorway as Nya glared at him. "We're here for Jay," Nya spat at him furiously. "Whatever you've done to him-" Cole added angrily. "Me? The Merge left Jay Walker without his memory," Ras defended, "Lost. Alone. Friendless. I found him," Ras continued as Cinder smirked coffee behind the door, smirking at our perceived misery, "Helped him when no one else would. Where were you?" Nya's face contorted in fury at that, glaring at Ras with rage as I frowned, a part of me reluctantly agreeing with Ras' point. "He's one of us Ras," Lloyd argued, stepping forward, "Let him out!" "Too late. He's gone. Jay was here for one purpose. To win matches. He failed that purpose, so I sent him away. If you truly value Jay, leave the games and go after him," Ras suggested, shutting the door in our faces, causing Nya to turn and begin to leave.

"Come on, we need to-" Nya started, only to turn to us as we stopped, confused that we weren't following, "What? Maybe we can catch up to Jay before daylight," She said desperately. "Nya," Cole replied gently, "Ras is playing us. He sent Jay away because he wants us to go after him." "He knows we're his biggest threat in the Games," I agreed, "He just wants to split us up so there's more chance for Cinder or Nokt to gather all the Elemental Powers for him." "But we have to go!" Nya argued, "Jay needs us! Not only has he lost his memories, he used the Gong of Shattering. We have to find a way to heal his inner goodness. We have to save him!" "We do," Lloyd accepted, clearly struggling with his decision, "But this Tournament is a threat to the Source Dragons, to the Merged Lands themselves." "If our world is destroyed, there will be no Jay left to save," Zane pointed out, agreeing with him. "Before everything changed, Master Wu told me only unity can save us. Without Jay we aren't united!" Nya argued, distraught. "When the Games are over, when the world is saved, we'll find Jay. I promise," Lloyd assured her, stepping forward, causing me to sneer angrily.

"Yeah, and you've had a year to keep your promise to find our parents," I muttered to Arin bitterly, who nodded slightly in agreement as Sora walked over to us as we headed back to our quarters, "How many more promises are you prepared to twist to 'protect the world', Master?" "What's wrong?" Sora asked, not hearing my comment. "During their battle, Jay told Nya he worked in the Administration," Arin replied. "Wait... Jay is Agent Walker?" Sora asked, shocked. "Yeah," Arin and I confirmed, "The only person who might know what happened to our parents." "Great! So when this is all over we'll find him!" Sora said extatically, placing a hand on Arin's shoulder, "Then we can find your parents." "But when will this all be over!" Arin snapped back, irritated as we came to a stop, "Tarim's right, Lloyd promised a year ago to find our parents! And he's done nothing to help! And now he's promised Nya we'll find Jay. But something always gets in the way!"

"Hii-yah!" Nya yelled as she punched and kicked furiously at a spinning set of poles as I did the same beside her with even greater ferocity, a twisted snarl set on my face. "Nya and Tarim's training styles seem far more aggressive than usual," Zane noted as he walked up to stand beside Lloyd on the balcony over watching us just as Nya finally kicked one of the poles with such force that it was snapped straight off, flying straight at Zane's head, which Lloyd calmly caught before it struck him. "You mean angrier," Lloyd corrected, "I can't blame Nya. She's working through some stuff. She asked to be left alone. But Tarim... I just don't know. He's been off ever since the Blood Moon. But he won't tell me what's wrong. Every time I ask, he acts as though he's being no different than normal." "Worrying, but, Lloyd, Nya cannot simply stay here," Zane argued, "The next Game shall begin shortly." "They'll come through for us," Lloyd argued confidently, "They always have." Just as he said this Nya knocked her set of poles off of it's spinning platform, smashing it to the ground with an enraged scream as I finished up, mopping my brow as I stalked off back to our quarters.
