Chamber of Secrets

The next morning, you shower and dress quickly, your mind racing with questions. With a determined stride, you make your way to Severus' chambers using the portkey on your watch. As you step inside, your demand for answers hangs in the air.

"Tell me about the Chamber of Secrets," you say, your voice a mix of frustration and urgency.

Severus looks at you for a moment before sighing. "The Chamber of Secrets was built by Salazar Slytherin himself. It is said to contain a beast that only his heir could control."

You frown, your mind racing with possibilities. "Where is the chamber?"

He shakes his head. "No one knows. The school has been searched multiple times over the years, but no one has been able to locate it."

"Why would he put a beast inside the school?" you ask, feeling a chill run down your spine.

"Salazar Slytherin believed that only pure-blood wizards were worthy of being educated at Hogwarts," Severus explains. "The beast was meant to purge the school of those who were not of pure blood."

Your eyes widen as you process this information. "Do you think I am the heir it refers to?"

Severus looks at you thoughtfully. "It's possible. The fact that you are a Parselmouth suggests a connection to Slytherin. But we can't be certain yet. We need more information."

You pace the room, trying to piece everything together. "So, the whispers I've been hearing... they could be coming from this beast?"

"It's very likely," Severus says, his voice filled with concern. "You must be extremely careful. If you are indeed the heir, the beast may try to communicate with you, or worse, use you to fulfill its purpose."

You shake your head, determination settling in. "I need to find Harry and ask him about the voice he heard."

Severus's expression hardens. "You need to worry about your studies and stay safe. I will handle this."

"No," you say firmly, meeting his gaze. "I am going to investigate this as well. I can't sit back and do nothing while people are in danger."

Severus's eyes flash with a mixture of frustration and admiration. "You're stubborn, you know that?"

You smile slightly, your resolve unwavering. "I learned from the best."

He sighs, knowing that there's no stopping you when you've made up your mind. "Fine. But you must promise me that you'll be careful. No unnecessary risks."

You nod, determined. "I promise."

Before you can turn to leave, he grabs your hand gently, pulling you closer. "At least give me a kiss before you go back to your dorm."

You hesitate, a small frown forming on your lips. "You were harsh to me last night," you say, your tone tinged with a hint of hurt.

Severus's expression softens, guilt flashing in his eyes. "I know, and I'm sorry. I was worried about you."

With a sigh, you relent, leaning in to press a soft kiss to his lips. He deepens the kiss, holding you close for a moment longer than necessary, as if trying to convey his apology and his love through the simple act.

When you pull back, you can see the regret and concern in his eyes. "Be careful, Y/N," he whispers, his voice low and earnest.

"I will," you promise, giving his hand one last squeeze before turning and leaving his chambers.

You make your way back to your dorm through your portal, feeling the weight of the conversation still lingering. Once inside, you feed your sugar gliders, Mary and Barry, while you pace. "I have to speak to Harry," you think. After they have eaten, you put them in their pouch, sling it over your body, and grab your books.
