Chapter 2 of It All Ended In A Neon Cathedral

Alison's POV

*Three Days Later*

I woke up on Friday morning to Bailey licking my face and my phone ringing loudly. I let out a frustrated groan as I rolled over and picked up the phone.

"Hello?" I answered, not even bothering to see who it was that was calling.

"Hey Ali." I familiar voice said.

"Hey Ryan." I replied, smiling to myself.

"Are you free today?" He questioned.

"I don't know. I might have to check my busy schedual." I answered sarcastically.

"Right. Cause you actually leave the house." He replied just as sarcastically.

"Hey, maybe I actually planned on going somewhere today. How would you know?" I asked.

"I suppose I wouldn't, now could you answer the question?" He asked with a laugh.

"Yeah, I'm free. What did you have in mind?" I asked.

"I was thinking we could go for lunch. Catch up a bit." He replied.

"You sure Shay won't mind?" I questioned.

"She's going out with a friend of her's today. She doesn't mind." He answered.

"Alright. What time do you want to go out?" I asked.

"I'll pick you up in two hours." He said.

"Alright. I'll see you then." I said.

"See you then." He replied before hanging up.

"See who when?" Ben asked from the door.

"Ryan in two hours." I answered as I looked over at him.

"Oh really? What are you guys doing?" he asked.

"Going for lunch." I replied.

"Nice." He said with a smile.

"Can you let Bailey out so I can get a shower and get ready?" I asked.

"Yeah no problem." He said before calling Bailey and heading out.

I got up and walked to the closet, getting clothes out before heading into the bathroom and getting a quick shower. As I did my hair and makeup, I thought about how today would go.

It had been a few months since I had seen Ryan, and he was with someone new now. Anything could happen, except what I really wanted to. I knew it would take something greater than what I was willing to do to get him back. It was almost impossible.

I had read the articles in the different magazines about Ryan and Shay. They were happy together, and they didn't go anywhere without the other.

As I finished getting ready, I grabbed my phone and a jacket before heading to the living room and sitting down on the couch next to Ben.

"So are you excited to see him?" Ben asked.

"Yeah, but I'm also nervous. It's been months since I saw him last." I replied.

"You'll be fine." He said as he threw his arm over my shoulder and pulled me into a side hug.

"I hope you're right." I said.

"If you need anything, I'm only a phone call away." He said.

"Thanks Ben." I said.

We sat and watched TV for a while before there was a knock on the door. Ben went to answer it while I went to put shoes on. When I walked back out to the main hall, there he stood. He looked even better than what I remembered.
