Ben’s POV

I watched Alison as she walked away to her room. When she was gone, I glanced over to Ryan to find a hurt expression on his face. He had obviously tried to get her to stay, but it was no use.

“She needs to do this Ryan.” I said softly.

“There are other ways Ben.” He said with a hint of anger.

“It’s her choice Ryan.” I said.

“Ben, I can’t let her go. When I’m not with her, I feel like a piece of me is missing. Ben, I think I love her…” He trailed off.

“Seriously?” I asked with my eyebrows raised.

“Seriously.” He replied.

“So tell her.” I said as I stood up.

“It’s not that easy Ben.” He said with a sigh.

“Sure it is.” I replied.

“How are you completely okay with this? She is your little sister and I’m your best friend.” Ryan questioned.

“That’s exactly why I’m okay with it. You’re my best friend so I know you won’t hurt her, and she is my little sister, and I know her well enough to know that she won’t play you.” I said.

“Oh.” Was all he said before we were left in a silence.

“Ryan?” Came a questioning voice from the hallway.

“Yeah?” He asked as Alison walked back into the room.

“Are you still staying the night?” She asked.

“Do you want me to?” He questioned.

“Yeah.” She answered.

“Then I’ll stay.” Ryan said.

“Will you come to bed then?” Alison asked.

“Yeah, I’ll be there in a minute.” He replied.

“Okay.” Alison said before turning around and heading back to her room.

“Try to get her to stay one more day, take her to dinner or something.” I said.

“Yeah, I’ll try.” Ryan said before walking past me and back the hallway.

“Oh and Ryan.” I said.

“Yeah?” He asked.

“You should probably get ahold of Mary tomorrow and get Bailey back as well.” I said.

“Shit I almost forgot. Yeah, I’ll call her in the morning.” He said as he ran a hand through his hair, “goodnight Ben.”

“Goodnight Ryan.” I said before watching him walk back the hall towards Alison’s room.

I let out a sigh as I realized tomorrow could be good or bad. If Alison thought she needed to go back to rehab, who am I to argue with her? But I knew Ryan wasn’t going to be able to let her go. At least not easily.

Ryan’s POV

As I walked back the hallway to Alison’s room, I ran a hand threw my hair before letting out a sigh. I debated on whether to tell her how I really feel tonight, or just wait for tomorrow. I felt like I just wanted to get it over with, but I knew now wasn’t the time, so I’d wait.

As I entered the bedroom, I found Alison on her bed, scrolling through what looked like twitter. I walked over and sat down next to her before placing my head on her shoulder. I nuzzled my nose into the crook of her neck and she let out a giggle.
