Ben’s POV
I woke up to the alarm on my phone going off and Tricia groaning in anger beside me. It was only 6:30 and she hated being up early. Then again, who does like getting up early? No one.
I rolled out of the bed and went straight for the bathroom. When I was done there I made my way to Ryan and Ali’s room to find both of them still asleep. I walked to Ryan’s side and flicked his nose. He didn’t wake up so I did it a few more times and eventually he woke up and had a look of anger across his face.
“What the hell Ben!?!” He whisper shouted.
“It’s quarter to 7, we have a flight to catch and you’re both still sleeping.” I stated.
“Shit, sorry man.” Ryan said as he ran his hand through his hair.
“Can you get Ali up?” I asked.
“Yeah, I’ll get her up, just go worry about getting your things around.” He said as he stood up off the bed.
“Thanks man.” I said before heading back to Tricia and I’s room.
“Everything alright?” Tricia asked as I walked back in the room
“Perfectly fine.” I answered as I gave her a peck on the lips before finishing packing up my things.
“Good.” She said smiling as she did the same.
We quickly got everything packed up and were ready for the airport. Ryan and Alison still weren’t ready, so I decided to go check on them. Just as I was about to open their door, it swung open and there stood Ryan, with Alison on his back.
“She wouldn’t wake up.” Ryan shrugged.
I chuckled before stepping back and letting him through the doorway and into the main room. I walked into their room and grabbed the two suitcases that were sitting next to the bed, pulling them into the main room and placing them on the luggage cart that Tricia had called for.
We all made sure we had everything before making our way down to the lobby and handing in our key cards at the front desk. The concierge thanked me and we were on our way. We got out to the car and had everything loaded in before heading to the airport to catch our flight. We had an hour layover in San Francisco, and then we would head to Seattle from there. It still confuses me why there were no straight flights from Crescent City to Seattle.
When we got to the airport, Ryan was finally able to wake Alison up so that he didn’t have to carry her through security. Eventually we made it to our gate and sat around for a while until it was time to board our plane.
*4 and a half hours later*
We had finally landed in Seattle and I was more than happy about that. We all got off the plane and headed for baggage claim. I knew mom and dad were there waiting, and so did Ryan and Tricia, but Ali had no idea. Alison stayed at Ryan’s side, obviously a bit nervous about the whole thing.
When we reached baggage claim, I immediately saw my parents and they saw me as well. I looked over to Alison, who had seen them as well, and had tears running down her face. This could be good or bad.
Ali’s POV
We were walking towards baggage claim and there were multiple things going through my mind. I figured that Ben would ask mom and dad to meet us at the airport, I mean why wouldn’t he. I was expecting it. When we reached baggage claim, my thoughts were confirmed as I saw my mom and dad standing there. I glanced over at Ben, with tears running down my face. He nodded his head confirming that it was in face them.
I turned back to face them and ended up bolting into their open arms. It had been years since I saw them last or even spoke to them. Yes, it was my choice to leave in the first place, but that didn’t mean I didn’t miss them.
“Oh Alison, it’s so great to see you again.” My mother said as she hugged me.
“I’ve missed you mom, I’m so sorry for running off.” I said, still in tears.
“It’s in the past now love, we will get passed it.” She replied.
I pulled away from her and went to give my father a hug. He pulled me against him tightly like he would never let go again. I missed him the most. I was always a daddy’s girl.
After a few minutes of just staying in my father’s arms, he pulled away and gave me a stern look. I knew that look. I was in trouble.
“Young lady, you have a lot of explaining to do.” He said.
“Dad, let’s just get her home first okay?” Ben cut in.
“Right, of course.” He said.
So with that, we all got our luggage and were on our way out of the airport. Ryan and Tricia were both catching a cab back to their houses while Ben and I were going with our parents. I didn’t want Ryan to leave, but I knew he had to. Before he left, I gave him a tight hug and thanked him for everything. He placed a kiss on my forehead before getting in a cab and leaving.
Not knowing when I’d see him again was the worst part.
