Ali’s POV
Half an hour ago, Ryan told me we were going out today but it was a surprise. I decided to get a shower and get ready for whatever it was. As I stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around myself, there was violent knocking at the bathroom door. I raised an eyebrow in confusion as I walked to the door and opened it to find Ryan standing there with a worried look on his face.
“What is it?” I asked him.
“Get dressed, hurry.” He said simply.
“Ryan, what is it?” I asked again.
“Our day is being postponed again, something happened at home with your dad and Ben is flipping out. We are all going back on the next flight. Get dressed and help me pack everything up again.” He said.
My eyes widened in shock at the news of something happening to my father. I quickly got dressed and just threw my hair up in a ponytail before walking back out to the bedroom and helping Ryan pack all of our things up. We walked out of the bedroom to find Ben pacing the living room on his phone and Tricia on her laptop booking flights.
Ryan went over and sat next to Tricia, helping her with the flights, while I walked towards Ben and placed a hand on his shoulder. Seconds later he had hung up the phone and turned around to face me. He looked down at me with a sad look before pulling me into a hug. I hugged him back and we just stood there, trying to keep each other calm.
“He was in an accident. A drunk driver hit his car on his way home from work.” He said softly.
“Is he going to be okay?” I asked.
“He’s in the hospital and he hasn’t woken up yet.” He answered.
“Ben.” Tricia called from the couch.
“Yeah?” He asked.
“I can only get two tickets for today, and then I can get two for tomorrow. So you and Alison can fly out today, and Ryan and I can come tomorrow.” She said.
“Alright.” Ben said as he pulled away from our hug.
“Your flight leaves in 4 hours, so you have about 2 hours before you need to be there.” Ryan said.
“Can we go get something to eat?” I asked.
“I’ve got to finish packing and call our manager to let him know we can’t play the show in two days. Why don’t you and Ryan go?” Ben said.
“Alright.” I answered as I looked over at Ryan.
He stood up from the sofa, making his way over to me. He grabbed his jacket off the chair by the door, just as I did, before we both slipped on a pair of shoes. I grabbed my room key and we headed out in search of a place to eat.
