AN: Hello! Here it is, Chapter 40! Sorry if it isn't great, but I'm having trouble with the idea for the fillers between big chapters. I promise you the next chapter or two will be big in a lot of interesting ways. So here you go :)

Ryan's POV

As I woke up the next morning, I noticed that for once, Alison was still at my side. Content with the situation, I decided not to move, but simply to pull her closer. I glanced over at the clock to find that it was only 8 am.

As I was about to fall back asleep, there was a light knock on the door. I gave out a light "Come in" before the door opened, revealing Ben.

"How is she?" he asked softly.

"She hasn't woken up yet so I'm not sure." I replied.

"Did she say anything last night?" he questioned.

"Not much. She kind of just passed out when we got back." I answered as I shifted a bit.

"Mike stopped by last night after the show." Ben said.

"What'd he want?" I asked.

"To talk with Alison. I almost feel bad for him. Like I know what he did was wrong, but Ali won't even give him a chance to apologize." Ben said as he leaned against the door frame.

"Why do you think I invited him here? I was hoping she would finally hear him out. But now I just feel like shit for doing it because I know it hurt her." I said as I looked down at her.

How she hadn't woken up yet, I will never know. But just as that thought crossed my mind, Alison shifted, her eyes slowly opening.

I glanced up at Ben and gave him a look to ensure that she was waking up, and instead of continuing to stand at the door, he turned around and left, leaving Alison and I to talk.

"Morning beautiful." I said as I leaned down and placed a kiss on her forehead.

"Morning she replied as she rubbed her eyes.

"How are you feeling?" I asked.

"Horrible." She replied as she burried her face into my chest.

"Do you want to talk about last night?" I questioned as I ran my hand through her hair.

"I guess I kind of promised I would, didn't I?" she replied.

"Yeah, but if you don't want to, I'll understand." I said.

"But if I don't, it will just lead to more problems." she said as she sat up.

I sat up as well, leaning against the headboard. Soon I felt Alison pick up my hand in hers, and she began to play with my fingers.

"What are you doing?" I questioned with a smirk.

"Trying to find something to keep me calm." She replied.

I grabbed her hands with my free hand and pulled them to my lips, placing a small kiss on her knuckled before bringing out hands down to rest in my lap.

"Go ahead." I said.

"Okay. So, why exactly did you invite him?" She questioned.

"I thought maybe it would be a good idea, but obviously I was wrong. I apologize." I said.

"The thought was nice, thank you, but next time just warn me." she said as she looked up at me.

"He stopped by last night to talk to you." I said.

"He did?" She questioned.

"Yeah. Ben came in a bit ago and he said he came after the show, but we were already asleep." I answered.
