ELENA'S POV :

We find the others seated around the dining table in front of a laptop and printed sheets.

"What is it," Elena asks them.

"A blacklist."

"When you say blacklist you mean-"

"It's a list of the supernatural creatures of Beacon Hills with a reward for the death of each of them," Lydia assures me. "A blacklist."

•••

Three supernatural beings have already been killed. The first part of the list that Lydia decoded was unlocked thanks to a first name.

Allison.

Lydia, Scott and Derek are already on the list for 20, 25 and 15 million respectively. But it is assumed that there are two other parts of this list. So my best friend and I stayed all weekend at the lake house to try to crack the second code.

I retrieve a glass from one of the kitchen cupboards and fill it with water. I then head upstairs and open the door leading to the room where the Banshee is. The latter is still in front of the record player which only produces the simple sound of the scratching of the quartz needle on a blank record.

"Huh ?"

She straightens up slightly, looking at me with her tired eyes.

"Here, drink some."

She picks up the glass and takes a sip before setting it down next to her.

"You should rest," I suggest.

"The other two keys aren't going to come to us on their own."

"You're exhausted. You won't find anything by pulling on the rope like you're doing."

She lets out a deep sigh and ends up getting up and following me under the porch to get some air.

"I can't understand why I can't find anything," the redhead sighs.

"Maybe you're thinking too much. Usually it comes to you rather spontaneously."

"Except that we don't have time to wait for my... Banshee power to be useful to us."

"Don't worry, we'll find it."

A long silence follows as only the singing of birds and the occasional lapping of the lake fill the emptiness around us.

"We should go back," I tell her. "We're not going to skip school forever."

She gives me a half smile since high school is the least of our worries with what's going on.

"Yeah. You're right."

•••

While we were gone, the others found out that one of the killers is on the lacrosse team. Unfortunately, they don't want to suspend the game to have an extra chance to unmask him.
