Y/n and Yoona did not have dinner and was sobbing all night while waiting for Ji Eun to regain her consciousness. Y/n s mother, Dr. Jung was there with the two broken girls always trying to console them but once she understood that it was impossible, the elder let them cry as much as they want so that they could put out their emotions without keeping them bottled inside.
When it was dawn, Mrs. Jung reminded the girls that Ji Eun would wake up anytime so that they should wash their faces and make sure not to look sad in front of their friend.
Realizing what her mother said was true, y/n walked to the bathroom with yoona and washed their faces but their eyes were puffy and swollen from lack of sleep and sobbing for a whole night.
But they knew that the both of them should smile a lot and at least pretend to look happy in order to keep their JiJi happy. Both Y/n and Yoona refused to leave Ji Eun's side saying that they wanted to be there with her during her last moments, because they were literally sisters and they loved each other so much unconditionally.
Once the two girls looked a bit refreshed they came back to the room where Ji Eun was and waited until the doctors and the nurses check on her and give her the medication through the canula.
Once a certain medicine was injected into Ji Eun's body, within a few minutes, the sick girl moved her hand indicating that she has regained her consciousness but she was still fast asleep because of the pain killers which were given you her.
"Both of you should sleep a little. At least for half an hour or else you guys are going to be sick as well" Yoona's mother who visited them In the morning said looking at the two girls who were sitting on the couch.
Even though they didn't want to sleep, both y/n and Yoona knew that they had to take a nap because they were exhausted from staying up for more than 24 hours.
"Then we will take a nap eomma. But promise to call us immediately if JiJi wake up okay?" Yoona said and her mother nodded in response as the two girls leaned back on the couch while closing their eyes .

"Is there anything you would like to eat Ji Eun-ssi? We can arrange that for you" y/n heard the voice of her mother faintly and she thought that she must be dreaming and imagining things since she was cuddled up with yoona on the couch.
"Oh no aunty. There is nothing special but i really wanna eat something right now. Because i am so hungry" Y/n heard Ji Eun say and her eyes opened immediately and she looked at the hospital bed wanting to confirmed what she heard was true or not.
And there Ji Eun was, seated on the bed with the monitors attached to her body, but she was trying to act fine and she was smiling faintly at y/n s mother . But y/n knew , by just taking a glance at her friend that she was absolutely not alright but all she was doing was trying so hard to act fine in order to make others not worry about her. Y/n nudged yoona, who was still asleep wanting to wake her up soon to show her that Ji Eun was up from her sleep.
"JiJi!!!" Y/n stood up from the couch and ran to Ji Eun after kicking yoona and hugged Ji Eun tightly trying so hard not to cry.
"Oh my god y/n. What is all this about? Look at me!!! i am absolutely fine" ji eun said with a faint smile and looked at Y/n who pulled away from the hug. "Of course you are doing amazing JiJi. But ughhh you slept for too long" yoona added when y/n was struggling to get the words out of her mouth and she also gave Ji Eun a gentle hug making sure that she wasn't hurting her.
"I ll go out and come then. And you two, you better go home, have a wash and come back because ughh y'all stink." Y/n s mother said scrunching her nose and walked out of the room making the three girls chuckle.
"Look JiJi, Na brought you flowers" y/n said pretending to sound excited while showing ji eun the beautiful bunch of flowers which was placed next to her bed.
"I saw!! Oh my goodness you guys know how much i love flowers. Thank you so much Na. These flowers mean everything to me" ji eun said looking at the flowers with so much emotions on her face.
Then someone knocked on the door and a nurse came inside with a tray of food for ji eun.
"I will eat now babes. Go home and have a wash. And eat something and come" Ji Eun said but y/n and Yoona did not want to leave their friend behind. But y/n s mother who came to see Ji Eun at that time was able to convince both of them to go home telling that she will stay with the sick girl until the two friends come back.

It took more than two hours for y/n to come back to the hospital because of the traffic and she didn't forget to buy some sweets and an iced latte for ji Eun because she knew how much their JiJi loved to eat sweets. Taking the elevator, y/n went to the room where Ji Eun was at and opened the door after knocking twice and entered the room.
The room was extremely silent and only the whispering of the doctor jung who was talking to a nurse was heard. She looked at her daughter who was staring at her and Ji Eun with a shocked expression on her face and dr. Jung knew that she had to talk to y/n in order to keep her from breaking down any further.
Once the nurse left the room,y/n looked at her mother and talked in a mere whisper.
"What happened? You said you will stay with her? She was fine when we left but what happened during these two hours" the girl said looking at her mother who was watching her with a grave expression on her face.
"Two hours can change a lot of things sweetie. Ji Eun was so strong that she tolerated all her pain and held onto her life while both of you were here. She must have not wanted to make you two worry so she tried to act fine making even the hospital staff surprised. But once you two left, her body gave up after sometime. She vomited blood and fell asleep after we gave her the medicine. We assume that the aneurysm in her brain which was formed due the tumor must have ruptured." Y/n s mother explained to her daughter trying to sound calm but seeing the broken face of her daughter made the doctor's voice tremble as well.
"Aunty So Min" then they heard the faint voice of Ji Eun who was looking at them with her wilted eyes. Y/n s mother smiled at the sick girl as she talked to her after checking her pulse immediately.
"Hope you are feeling better honey." She said and looked at y/n and faked a big smile before speaking.
"Stay with JiJi. I will go out and come" the elder said looking at her daughter. "She doesn't have much time. So be strong and make her happy" y/n s mother whispered to y/n before she left the room leaving the two girls alone.
The room was silent except for the soft beeping of the heart monitor. Ji Eun laid in her bed, her once vibrant spirit now a mere flicker in her eyes. Y/N sat beside her, holding her frail hand, trying to provide some comfort in these final moments. The air was thick with the scent of antiseptic and impending loss.
Ji Eun's breaths were shallow, each one a struggle. Her eyes, once full of life and mischief, were now dim but still held a glimmer of gratitude and love for her friend. Y/N brushed a strand of hair from Ji Eun's forehead, tears welling up in her eyes.
"Thank you... for being here,for taking me to the hospital ," Ji Eun whispered, her voice barely audible.
"Always, JiJi. I wouldn't be anywhere else, you know how much we love you" Y/N replied, her voice breaking.
Ji Eun's grip on Y/N's hand tightened momentarily, a final burst of strength. "Promise me... you'll live your life to the fullest. Don't let... anything hold you back. And don't tell anyone ab..about the situation of my fam..family. Just tell them that i.. i was sick. Promise me"
"I promise," Y/N said, her tears falling freely now.
With a faint smile, Ji Eun closed her eyes for the last time, her hand slipping from Y/N's grasp. The heart monitor flatlined, its steady beep signaling the end. Y/N bowed her head, breaking into a loud sob , the sound of her heart shattering into a million pieces.
