Chapter 16

After the Jeons left on Saturday evening, Y/N was filled with emotions and questions. She immediately tried calling her best friend, Yoona, to share the news about the marriage proposal from Jeongguk. However, Yoona's phone was switched off. Y/N tried a few more times over the weekend but had no luck.

It wasn't until Monday morning that Yoona finally answered the call.

"Hey, Y/N! Sorry, my phone was dead all weekend and i didn't have time to check and plug it since i was so fucking busy. What's up?" Yoona's voice was cheerful as usual.

"Na Na Naaa, you won't believe what happened," Y/N said, her voice filled with excitement and nerves.

"What? Tell me!" Yoona urged.

"Jeongguk's family came over for dinner on Saturday, and they proposed... for Jeongguk and me to get married," Y/N revealed, her heart racing.

There was a brief silence before Yoona screamed in excitement. "Oh my god! Dudeeee....this is amazing! You've liked Jeongguk since we were like 14! This is literally your dream coming true!"

"I know, right?" Y/N laughed, feeling a bit overwhelmed. "I still can't believe it."

"So, what do you think? Are you going to say yes?" Yoona asked eagerly.

"I'm not sure yet. It's a big decision, and I want to make sure it's the right one," Y/N said thoughtfully.

"Y/N, you've liked him forever. He's a great guy, and his family is wonderful. This sounds perfect. You should totally say yes before it's too late," Yoona insisted.

Y/N sighed. "I know,Na. But I want to make sure he feels the same way about me. What if this is just because our families are close?"

"Y/N, remember how he looked at you during your birthday party? And the gathering? He definitely likes you," Yoona reassured her.

"Do you really think so?" Y/N asked, feeling a bit more hopeful.

"I know so. Trust me, Y/N. You two are perfect for each other," Yoona said confidently.

Y/N smiled, feeling a bit more at ease. "Thanks,babe. Your support means a lot."

"Of course! So, when are you going to talk to him about it?" Yoona asked.

"I don't know. I guess I need to find the right moment," Y/N replied.

"Just don't wait too long, okay? This is your chance, Y/N," Yoona encouraged.

"Okay, I won't. Thanks,Na ," Y/N said, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness.

"Anytime, Y/N. And please, keep me updated!" Yoona said.

"I will. Talk to you later," Y/N said, ending the call.

As she put her phone down, Y/N felt a sense of clarity. Talking to Yoona had helped her sort through her feelings. She knew that she had to talk to Jeongguk soon and find out where they both stood.

For the rest of the day, Y/N thought about her conversation with Yoona. Her friend's excitement and confidence gave her the courage she needed. By the evening, she had made up her mind to speak to Jeongguk and see if this dream could truly come true.

That night, Y/N lay in bed, thinking about the future. She felt a mix of nerves and excitement, but one thing was clear: she needed to follow her heart. And her heart was telling her that this might just be the beginning of something beautiful.

Jeongguk lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling, a satisfied smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. Everything had gone according to plan. He had managed to convince both the Jung family and his own about the proposal without raising any suspicions about his true intentions. Now, all that remained was for Y/N to agree. And Jeongguk was certain she would.
