Y/N sat in the passenger seat of Jeongguk's car, excitement bubbling inside her as she glanced out the window. Today was special—Jeongguk had promised to take her shopping, and this was the first time they were going out together as a married couple. Wanting to look her best, she had carefully chosen her outfit, a simple yet elegant one that made her feel confident and beautiful.
She couldn't stop humming along to the songs playing on the radio, the happiness she felt spilling over. Seeing her in such a joyful mood brought a rare smile to Jeongguk's face.
As they approached the mall, Jeongguk noticed the car following them closely. It was Jackson, his chief bodyguard, along with the rest of their security team. Jeongguk had wanted today to be just about the two of them, without any extra eyes watching their every move, but Jackson had insisted on coming along.
"You know you can't go out without security," Jackson had said earlier, his tone firm yet respectful. "As the billionaire vice chairman and his wife, you need protection. It's my job to ensure your safety."
Jeongguk had sighed, knowing Jackson was right. "Fine, but try to keep a low profile. I don't want Y/N to feel uncomfortable."
Now, as they pulled into the mall's parking lot, Jeongguk glanced over at Y/N. She was still smiling, completely unaware of the quiet conversation he'd had with Jackson. He parked the car and turned off the engine, giving her a reassuring look. "Ready to shop?"
She nodded eagerly. "I can't wait!"
They got out of the car, with Jackson and the other guards discreetly following a few steps behind. The mall was bustling with activity, and Jeongguk instinctively moved closer to Y/N, his hand gently resting on her lower back as they walked. They wandered through several stores, trying out different dresses, pants, and tops. Each time Y/N stepped out of the fitting room, Jeongguk couldn't help but admire her. She looked stunning in everything she tried on, but it was clear she was searching for something special.
"What do you think of this one?" she asked, holding up a sleek black dress that shimmered under the store's lights.
Jeongguk tilted his head, considering it. "It's nice, but I think you can find something even better."
Y/N smiled, appreciating his honesty. She continued browsing, eventually picking out a jumpsuit that caught her eye. The fabric was soft and luxurious, the design simple yet elegant—perfect for a night party. She slipped into the fitting room, eager to see how it looked on her.
When she emerged, Jeongguk was waiting, his expression expectant. "Well? Let me see."
Y/N shook her head, her lips curving into a mischievous smile. "Nope. This one's a surprise. You'll have to wait until the party."
Jeongguk chuckled, amused by her playful tone. "A surprise, huh? Alright, I'll wait."
They approached the register, and Jeongguk handed over his black card to pay for the outfit. As the cashier processed the transaction, Jackson stepped forward, offering to carry the shopping bag.
