Y/N sat at her office desk, buried in a mountain of paperwork, her mind fully immersed in numbers and signatures, contracts and approvals. It was almost closing time, and her phone buzzed on the table, screen flashing with a notification from an unknown number. She glanced at it quickly and dismissed it, assuming it was just another promotional message. She didn't have the time for anything other than her work, and honestly, if it wasn't Jeongguk messaging, she didn't really care.

Finally, as the evening sun began to dip below the skyline, she closed the last file and stretched her aching muscles. Gathering her things, she headed to her car, exhausted but ready to head home to Jeongguk.

As she slid into the driver's seat and was about to start the engine, her phone buzzed again. The screen showed another message from that unknown number. She hesitated for a moment, a strange, foreboding feeling settling in her stomach. But curiosity got the better of her, and with trembling fingers, she unlocked her phone and tapped on the message.

"The truth about your husband who planned to marry you for revenge."

Beneath the text was a video file. Y/N stared at it, her heartbeat suddenly loud in her ears, her chest tightening with a feeling she couldn't name. Why would anyone send her something like this? Was it some kind of prank?

Her hands shook as she clicked on the video, her mind racing with anxiety and confusion. The screen flickered, revealing a CCTV feed of a office corridor. She squinted at the figures in the video, her breath hitching as she recognized them: Jeongguk, Taehyung and Jimin. Her throat went dry.

In the video, Jeongguk looked exhausted, his expression tight with tension. Taehyung and Jimin were beside him, their face filled with concern as they whispered something to him. Y/N raised the volume, her ears straining to catch every word. She heard Taehyung ask, "Jeongguk, why are you treating Y/N like this?? We heard from Jackson how you never eat what she cooks and how you don't even spare a glance at her when she is looking at you and smiling at you. Jackson didn't tell us anything at first but we made him spill everything to us because both of us and Yoongi hyung find your rushed marriage to this innocent girl to be very unnatural. She is younger than you gguk and she doesn't deserve this pain."

Jeongguk's jaw clenched, his gaze dark and stormy. "I had no choice," he murmured, his voice low but clear, filled with bitterness. "Do you really think I married her out of love hyungs? She was part of my plan... for Ji Eun."

Y/N's breath caught in her throat, her entire body going numb. Her heart broke into a billion pieces at the memory of Lee Ji Eun. She struggled to make sense of what she was hearing. Ji Eun? What did any of this have to do with Ji Eun?

Jeongguk continued, his voice colder than she'd ever heard it. "I can't forget what happened to Ji Eun hyungs. Y/N had a role in her death as the rumors said, even if she doesn't know it. I married her because I wanted her to suffer as I suffered." He scoffed, a bitter smile playing on his lips. "All that kindness, that care... it was all an act."

Y/N's vision blurred, tears stinging her eyes as the weight of his words sank in. Her heart pounded painfully against her chest, and she clutched her phone as if it were the only thing keeping her grounded. Every word he'd said felt like a knife twisting in her chest, cutting deeper with every second.

Jimin's voice was barely a whisper. "But Jeongguk that was just a baseless rumor and there were NO proof to prove that shit. You looked for proof those days but did you find any? No you didn't. So stop this gguk. She trusts you, she cares about you. I can see it in her eyes. Doesn't any of that matter?"

Jeongguk let out a harsh laugh. "It doesn't change the fact that she's the reason Ji Eun is dead. I'll never forgive her."

The video ended, the screen fading to black as Y/N sat in stunned silence. Her entire world had just come crashing down, and all she could do was sit there, numb with disbelief. Jeongguk had married her... to exact revenge? For something she didn't even understand? The man she'd had a crush for years and then grown to care for, the man who'd started to show her kindness, was hiding this seething hatred beneath his smiles and gentle words.
