Chapter 12

"I cannot believe that you knew Jeongguk's mother all along and you decided not to tell me eomma!!" Y/n said widening her eyes as soon as they came home from the gathering.

"Have you met jeongguk before?" Somin asked from her daughter while taking a seat in their living room .

"Of course he was in my school and he was the most famous student until he left the school. He excelled in academics and extracurricular activities both." Y/n said feeling a bit proud but even she didn't know why she was feeling so.

"Oh really? Well that is kinda obvious cause look at that fine young man now. No wonder that he is the most successful businessman in the country." Y/n s mother said looking at y/n.

"Have you talked to him before or..?" Jung So Min asked from the girl who shook is head saying a no.

"Almost every girl at school used to have a crush on him eomma. But of course we didn't since we thought that he was cocky and swollen headed lol" y/n said looking at hobi who was just about to comment on what she said and hoped that her big brother wouldn't open his mouth to say anything right now.

And thankfully Hoseok understood what his sister gestured from her eyes so he kept his mouth shut trying to hide his giggles . "He looks like a nice young man though" he said instead smirking at the younger who stood up to walk back to her room.

"Yeah yeah i heard that he isn't a bad person" saying that y/n rushed back to her room making her mother look perplexed but hobi laugh out loud.

Jeongguk was sitting on his office room after coming back from the gathering. He didn't even stay for dinner but he came back home as soon as he got the chance to leave. But right now, he was thinking about is the meeting of y/n and the fact that jeongguk's mother being a close friend of Mrs. Jung.

All the memories of Ji Eun and her funeral, the rumor came flooding into his mind making the young male shiver in anger and frustration.

He was thinking of a way to seek revenge from y/n because he was convinced that Y/n was the one who made Ji Eun die. Jeongguk felt the wound he had in his heart re opening ten fold because all these years he couldn't achieve what he wanted. He wanted to take the revenge from y/n, in his point of view, the revenge that Ji Eun couldn't get for her sudden death.

But right now, Jeongguk wanted a swift plan so he knew all he had to do in the beginning was to get closer to the girl. First he wanted to find a way to talk to her and then he wanted to make sure that y/n trusts him so that he could execute whatever the plan he had in his mind.

He vowed to himself once again, that he is going to make y/n suffer and he knew for a fact that he was going to succeed because he has never failed doing in anything that he puts his mind into.

After Two weeks

In the cozy living room of Y/N's family home, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement. The Jung family was busy planning a special surprise for Y/N's upcoming birthday. She was turning 22 so her parents and brother wanted to organize a surprise party for the young girl to make her 22nd memorable. Even though it was the norm to celebrate the 21st birthday in a grand way, y/n decided to skip her birthday celebrations last year since she had her final exams and the research project to complete during her birthday week. So she asked her family and friends not to do anything for her 21st birthday because she knew that it will distract from her studies.

Since they had to respect what the younger wanted and skip her 21st, Jung family decided to celebrate their maknaes birthday this year with a surprise party. So they were starting to plan and her mother sat at the dining table with a notepad, jotting down ideas, while her father and brother, Hobi, stood nearby, discussing decorations.

"I think we should go with a purple theme," Y/N's mother suggested, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "It's her favorite color, and it'll make everything look so elegant. And cute"

Hobi nodded in agreement. "Yeah, purple's perfect! We can go with pastel purple and a little bit of white.We can get purple and white balloons, streamers, and maybe even some fairy lights. It'll look amazing." He said looking around their living room.

"But the cake should be white, with bit of a purple and white decoration." Hobi added while showing the cake designs to their mother from his phone.

Y/N's father, Jung Hae In smiled warmly at the thought. "I can take care of the decorations. We'll make sure the house looks beautiful. And for the guests, I'll invite my best friend Kim Woobin and his family. It'll be nice to have them here."

"That's a great idea," Y/N's mother agreed. "First i will talk to Na and invite her. She will be delighted to hear about the plan and that girl will willingly help us to arrange and plan everything."So Min said knowing so well that Yoona will be the happiest one to be invited to this party. "I'll also invite the Jeons. Since Y/N and Jeongguk already know each other, it'll be a wonderful surprise for her."she added looking at the other two, expecting a response.

Hobi raised an eyebrow playfully. "You think she'll be shocked to see him?"

Y/N's mother chuckled. "I think she'll be pleasantly surprised. They've gotten along so well since they met at the gathering. Also the fact that they used to school mates is a plus point."she said while adding the Jeon family to the guest list.

"We dont have to invite many others. Yoona, the Jeons and the Kims are enough.

The family continued to brainstorm, making sure every detail was perfect. They discussed the menu, music, and games to keep the guests entertained. As the plans came together, the excitement in the room grew.

Y/N's father looked around, satisfied with their preparations. "This is going to be a birthday she won't forget. We'll make sure everything is ready, and she'll have no idea what's coming."

Hobi grinned. "She's going to love it. We just have to keep it a secret until the big day."

Y/N's mother nodded. "Absolutely. Now, let's get to work and make this the best birthday ever for our girl."

With that, the family dispersed to their tasks, each eager to play their part in creating a memorable celebration for Y/N. They were confident that the surprise party, complete with her favorite people and a purple-themed décor, would bring a smile to her face and fill her heart with joy.

"We got invited to my friend's daughter's birthday party which will held next weekend. I hope both of you will be able to attend with me and your father."

Hearing what their mother said at the dinner table, both Jeongguk and Namjoon looked at Jeon Minah wondering whom she is talking about.

"Oh it's the Jungs. Jeongguk and Namjoon met them at the gathering. The girl was such a sweet person and she is turning 22 this year. So Min invited us so it will be really nice if you could join me and your appa" their mother said hoping that her sons would say yes.

Jeongguk knew this was the best chance he got from the god to get closer to the girl. Even though he was looking for a way to reach her through the last two weeks, he couldn't find a way to do so without being suspicious to anyone and right now, he knew that this was the right time to start working on his revenge and the younger male was so thankful to whoever got him this chance.

All of these processed in his mind within milliseconds and he closed his eyes and tried to remember whether he was occupied on the next weekend. But thankfully, his weekend was free so all he had to do was agree with his mom to go to the birthday party.

"I can come eomma. I don't have special plans next weekend. I will be able to come as long as my weekend stays free like that" jeongguk said trying not to sound too eager to attend to this event.

"Me too eomma. I will come as well. I of course am free on weekends so i have no problem at all" namjoon said and their mother looked at them with a warm smile on her face.

"Then both of you buy a gift for her. Flowers and something else as well. Me and joonie's appa will get her gift vouchers" saying that Minah added a mental note to search the designer stores which are mostly preferred by younger females.
