Y/N woke up slowly around 8 in the morning, her body heavy with exhaustion. She had stayed up late the previous night, crying herself to sleep. As she blinked her swollen eyes open, the events of the night before came rushing back. She couldn't understand why Jeongguk had suddenly become so distant, so cold. It wasn't like him. He'd always been caring, maybe even a bit overprotective, but last night was different.

Trying to calm her racing thoughts, Y/N tried to convince herself that Jeongguk must have just been drunk. Maybe he didn't mean the harsh words, the cold stares. "He'll come and talk to me," she thought. But even as she reassured herself, a nagging worry gnawed at her. Where had he slept last night? Had he eaten? The thoughts made her chest tighten with concern.

She reached for her phone on the bedside table and quickly dialed Jeongguk's number, her heart pounding. But when she heard the automated message telling her his phone was switched off, her stomach sank. Taking a deep breath, she decided to get on with her morning routine, hoping it would help clear her head.

Dragging herself out of bed, Y/N headed into the bathroom. She winced as she caught a glimpse of her reflection—her eyes were puffy and red, a clear sign of the tears she had shed. She brushed her teeth and took a long shower, letting the warm water soothe her aching muscles and wash away the remnants of the previous night's distress.

After finishing her bath, she changed into comfortable pants and a cotton t-shirt, tying her hair back into a loose ponytail. Y/N couldn't shake the heavy feeling in her chest, but she knew she had to find Jeongguk. He must be somewhere in the hotel, maybe in the lobby, and if not, the staff would surely know where he was.

She grabbed her phone again, this time determined to go look for him. Just as she was about to step out of the suite, there was a knock on the door. Her heart leaped with hope, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. "It must be Jeongguk," she thought, her excitement making her move quickly to open the door.

But as she swung the door open, her excitement fizzled out. Standing there was not Jeongguk, but a hotel worker, dressed neatly in a uniform. Y/N's face fell with disappointment, but she quickly forced herself to smile politely.

"Good morning, ma'am," the worker greeted her with a polite bow.

"Good morning," Y/N replied, trying to keep her voice steady. "Is there something you need?"

The worker nodded. "Yes, ma'am. Mr. Jeon has instructed us to inform you that he has already left and is waiting for you in the car. He requested that you have your breakfast here in the room and then pack up to go to his house."

Y/N felt a sharp pang in her heart. Jeongguk had already left? He didn't even bother to come up and talk to her? She forced a smile at the worker, though her mind was reeling from the sudden change in plans.

"Oh, I see," Y/N said, trying to sound casual. "Thank you for letting me know. But there's no need for breakfast. I'll check out now since he's waiting."

The worker looked a bit surprised but nodded. "As you wish, ma'am. I'll let the staff know."

"Thank you," Y/N said, her voice barely above a whisper.

As the worker turned to leave, Y/N closed the door and leaned against it, her heart sinking further. The weight of Jeongguk's sudden coldness pressed down on her, making her feel small and confused. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself, but it was no use. The sense of unease had settled deep in her bones, and she knew that nothing about this day was going to be easy.

She quickly packed her belongings, her hands trembling slightly as she zipped up her suitcase. She didn't know what was waiting for her outside, but she knew one thing for sure—Jeongguk wasn't the same, and the man waiting for her in that car was a stranger she no longer recognized and she knew that she had to talk to him and figure whatever it is out.
