As the car drove closer to the hotel in Seoul, Jeongguk felt a weight settling in his chest. The time had come to put his plan into motion. He glanced sideways at Y/N, who was sitting beside him, her face lit up with joy as she watched the city pass by outside the window. She was completely unaware of what was about to unfold.

When they finally arrived at the hotel, the car came to a stop in front of the grand entrance. A valet quickly appeared, opening the doors for them. Jeongguk stepped out first, his expression unreadable, and then Y/N followed, still smiling as she took in the elegance of the hotel. As soon as her feet touched the ground, Jeongguk turned to her, his voice firm and distant. "Follow me," he said before striding ahead into the hotel.

Y/N's smile faltered, a sense of unease creeping into her heart. Jeongguk's behavior was strange, almost cold. She wanted to ask him what was wrong, but something held her back. Maybe it was the seriousness in his tone, or perhaps it was the way he didn't look back at her as they walked into the lobby. She decided to remain silent for now, hoping it was just her imagination.

They were greeted by the hotel staff with warm smiles and polite bows as they were escorted to their suite. The grandeur of the hotel was undeniable, with its marble floors and ornate decorations. Y/N would have been excited under normal circumstances, but Jeongguk's odd behavior made it hard for her to focus on anything else. Once they reached the grand suite, the staff opened the double doors for them, revealing a luxurious room with a breathtaking view of the city skyline. Y/N stepped inside, taking in the elegant furniture, the plush bed, and the soft lighting that created a romantic atmosphere.

As soon as the staff left, closing the doors behind them, Y/N turned to Jeongguk, concern etched on her face. She needed to know what was going on. "Is everything alright, Jeongguk? Is something bothering you?" she asked gently, hoping to ease whatever was troubling him.

Jeongguk glanced at her briefly, his expression unreadable. "Nothing much. Just have a wash for now," he replied, his tone flat and emotionless. Without waiting for her to respond, he turned on his heel and walked out of the suite, leaving Y/N standing there, bewildered.

She watched the door close behind him, her mind racing. What could be wrong? She tried to convince herself that he was just stressed, maybe about work or something else. After all, he had a lot of responsibilities at the company. But still, the way he had just left without explaining anything felt unsettling.

Trying to shake off her worries, Y/N decided to take his advice and freshen up. She slipped out of her wedding dress, feeling the weight of the fabric slide off her shoulders. Her hair, once intricately styled, was now loose around her shoulders. She grabbed a plush bathrobe from the closet and made her way to the bathroom.

The shower was refreshing, the warm water helping to wash away some of the tension she felt. She stayed under the spray longer than usual, hoping that when she stepped out, Jeongguk would be back, and everything would be fine. But when she finally returned to the bedroom, drying her hair with a towel, the suite was still empty.

Jeongguk wasn't back yet.

Y/N frowned, her earlier anxiety starting to return. She changed into a comfortable pair of pajamas, hoping that maybe he was just delayed for some reason. Trying to distract herself, she sat down on the couch, her phone in hand, scrolling aimlessly through her social media. The minutes ticked by, but there was still no sign of Jeongguk.

A knock on the door made her jump slightly. She rushed to open it, expecting to see her husband, but instead, it was room service with a dinner tray. Her heart sank as she realized Jeongguk wasn't coming back anytime soon. She thanked the staff member quietly and took the tray, placing it on the small dining table by the window.

Sitting down, Y/N stared at the beautifully arranged dishes. It was supposed to be a special meal, their first dinner as husband and wife. But now, she was sitting alone in a huge suite, with no idea where Jeongguk was or what he was doing. The food looked delicious, but she had no appetite. She picked at the meal, taking a few bites here and there, but her mind was elsewhere.

After what felt like an eternity, she gave up and sent the tray back, feeling more alone than ever. The suite felt too big, too empty without Jeongguk there. She tried calling his phone, but it went straight to voicemail. She tried again, and again, but each time it was the same result.

Frustrated and worried, Y/N decided to wait for him in bed. She curled up under the covers, staring at the clock as it ticked past midnight. The night was supposed to be a celebration, a beginning of their new life together. She had been excited, imagining all the things they would do together, the memories they would make. But now, all those thoughts felt distant, like a dream that was slipping away.

Finally, unable to take it any longer, Y/N decided to go look for him. Maybe he was in the lobby, or somewhere else in the hotel. She slipped on a jacket, hoping that she might find him and bring him back to the room so they could finally talk. But just as she reached for the door handle, it swung open, revealing Jeongguk.

Her heart skipped a beat, but her relief was short-lived. Jeongguk was not himself. He was visibly drunk, his usually sharp eyes clouded with alcohol. A hotel staff member stood beside him, supporting him as he swayed slightly on his feet.

Y/N was stunned, unable to find her voice. She watched as Jeongguk gave her a mocking smile, one that sent a chill down her spine. Without acknowledging her presence, he gestured for the hotel worker to come inside with him. The worker gave Y/N a polite bow before stepping into the suite, carrying a small suitcase that she hadn't noticed before.

Y/N felt her heart pounding in her chest. What was happening? Why was Jeongguk acting this way? She watched in disbelief as the staff member started gathering some of Jeongguk's things, packing them into the suitcase. Panic rose in her chest, and she finally found her voice.

"Jeongguk-ssi, what is happening? Where are we going?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly as she tried to make sense of the situation.

Jeongguk didn't meet her eyes. "I'm going. Not you," he replied curtly, his tone as cold as ice.

Y/N felt the floor drop out from beneath her. "What? Did I do something wrong?" she pleaded, her voice breaking as she desperately tried to understand.

Jeongguk didn't answer. Instead, he continued packing, ignoring her completely. Y/N felt tears welling up in her eyes, but she couldn't let herself cry. Not yet. She needed answers. She needed to know why her husband, the man she had just married, was suddenly acting like a stranger.

Finally, Jeongguk finished packing. He turned to leave, but then he stopped and looked back at her. The expression on his face was one she had never seen before. It was filled with hatred, a raw anger that took her breath away.

"Keep this in mind, Jung Y/N," he began, his voice low and venomous. "I married you, yes. But it does not mean that I love you. So remember this, Y/N—you are no one to me but my wife by law. I don't love you, and I will never make you happy. I hate you."

Y/N's world shattered with those words. She could barely breathe as tears streamed down her face. The man standing before her wasn't the Jeongguk she thought she knew. He was someone else, someone who despised her for reasons she couldn't understand.

Jeongguk didn't seem to care about the devastation he was causing. "Get ready to go home, to my house, tomorrow morning," he added, his voice hard and unfeeling. Then, without another word, he turned and stormed out of the suite, slamming the door behind him.

Y/N collapsed to the floor, sobbing uncontrollably. She couldn't believe what had just happened. This was supposed to be the happiest night of her life, but now, it felt like the end of everything she had ever hoped for.
