Sacrifice

Dami's pov:

She slowly woke up and blinked a few times because bright light blinded her. Her arm hurt a little from lying in this uncomfortable position. She looked around and realized, she was in a giant cage. The light was so bright that she couldn't see past the tall fence. Her gaze wandered around until it landed on a person on the other end of the cage. They were unconscious and lay on the ground. Dami immediately recognized her and stood up swiftly. Maybe too swiftly because the cage started to spin around her for a moment but she ignored it and tried to remember how she ended up here while sprinting over to her girlfriend.

"Y/n!" She yelled on the way and when she reached the woman that still lay on the ground she could see the tiny blood puddle on the ground next to her head.

The assassin kneeled down and hesitantly grabbed her shoulder.

"Oh god," She gasped when she saw the wound on Y/n's temple after she turned the unconscious woman around.

Someone must've hit her hard with an object and Dami felt anger rise in her body. How dare they hurt her? Dami ignored the thoughts of revenge as she tried to wake the underboss up.

"Y/n? Wake up." She whispered while shaking the other woman.

After a few more tries Y/n moaned in pain and slowly opened her eyes.

"Yubin?" She said confused.

Y/n's pov:

As soon as you opened your eyes you felt a pounding pain in your head. You felt nauseous but seeing Dami made it better.

"Yubin?" You said and reached out with your hand to cup her cheek.

It was good to see her but you could sense that something was wrong. You sat up and took a look around. Your blood froze when you recognized the place.

"The pit? Why are we in the pit?" You asked yourself and wanted to stand up but Dami hindered you by grabbing your upper arm.

"You shouldn't do that. You might have a concussion." She sounded concerned but you brushed her hand off.

"We need to get out of here." You said.

"Okay, but take it slow." Dami helped you up and as soon as you two were standing a mocking voice echoed through the big hall.

"I guess you recognize this place, Y/n? It's just a shame that your stubbornness brought you and your girlfriend here." Handong said.

Suddenly one of the gates opened and your boss walked into the cage. Two men followed her. They looked mean and were a lot taller than you. After a closer look, you saw that they got beaten up.

"They are prisoners like us." You realized.

You stepped in front of Dami to shield her. There was nothing you wouldn't do to protect her.

"What have you planned?" You asked.

"Straight to the point as always. I will not let you wait for longer. Do you see the timer over there?" She pointed to the right where a big digital clock was placed on a wall.

The red numbers seem to mock you because you were not sure what Handong was up to. Usually, you looked through other people's plans but this time you couldn't focus. Your head hurt and you felt nauseous but you promised yourself you would make sure that Dami was safe.

"So the thing is only one of you-" She pointed at the two men and afterward at Dami and finally at you. "-will leave this cage alive but only if you are able to kill the others before the time runs out. If the countdown reaches zero and more than one is standing our snipers will send a bullet straight between your eyes."
