Dami's pov:

Y/n was sleeping peacefully at her side but Dami had a hard time finding rest after what happened today. The image of Y/n placing the muzzle of the gun under her chin and pulling the trigger didn't want to leave Dami's mind.

"You would've committed suicide just to save me. So that I wouldn't have to kill you." Dami thought as she brushed through Y/n's soft hair. "You said you love me. Three times and my dumb ass couldn't say it back. You must think I'm a coward. I couldn't even hinder you from pulling the trigger."

The assassin felt guilty. All she had done was injure the woman she loved. Y/n had said that it was fine and Dami shouldn't blame herself but the assassin couldn't stop thinking about what could've happened.

"You could be dead. I would be left alone. I am nothing without you." Dami whispered and leaned closer to place a soft kiss on Y/n's lips while tears filled her eyes.

She couldn't forget the panic she felt when Y/n's finger wrapped tighter around the trigger. She couldn't forget how her body froze in fear when she realized what her girlfriend was about to do.

"From now on I will protect you no matter the cost. You will never get hurt again, honey. I promise to look after you." Dami mumbled.

She moved closer to Y/n and wrapped her arm around the sleeping beauty. Instinctively Dami dug her nose in Y/n's hair. She breathed in the sweet scent of her girlfriend and her mind started to relax. Y/n's steady breaths lulled her into a deep slumber until the woman in her arms started to twitch.

"Honey?" Dami asked confused while she was still half asleep.

The underboss was tossing and turning while speaking in her sleep. Sweat covered every centimeter of her body. Even her hair was wet from it. The assassin was not sure what she should do so she gently shook Y/n's shoulder.

"Hey, wake up. It's just a dream." Dami said but Y/n didn't want to open her eyes that's why the assassin shook her shoulder a little harder.

There was still no reaction from the underboss. Her talking got even louder and Dami understood one word. Her own name. Suddenly Y/n shot up from her position while tears ran down her face. Panic was written all over her face as she looked around and as soon as she laid eyes on Dami the underboss relaxed a little.

"Thank god, you're okay," Y/n whispered before she wrapped her arms around Dami.

It was hard for Dami to see her cry. The once so strong and charismatic underboss turned into a fragile little girl.

"I'm here, baby," Dami whispered while she held Y/n close.

The poor woman cried into her chest. It took her a while to calm down. Her sobs finally died down and she pulled back clearly embarrassed.

"I'm sorry." The underboss sniffed and brushed away the last tears from her face.

"You don't need to feel sorry. You probably dreamed of something that upset you. It's only logical that you are emotional." Dami replied and placed a loose strain of hair behind Y/n's ear.

"I should be used to nightmares by now but this one was too much." The underboss whispered.

"Do you wanna talk about your dream?" Dami asked.

For a moment the assassin thought that her girlfriend didn't hear her but then the underboss started to talk.

"Usually I dream about my brother. He blames me for my death and tries to pull me into a dark abyss but this time it was different. The dark abyss was still there but it tried to pull you down. I grabbed your hand but I wasn't strong enough to pull you out and then your hand slipped out of mine. I screamed your name but you disappeared. I couldn't stop you from drifting into the darkness." Y/n's voice was quiet and she avoided eye contact.
