6. Explanations 🧚🏿

After stressful dragging of two muscular men through the forest, Alex finally reaches Khaleria. He drags them into the town and into his small home.

He keeps the knight on his small chair and puts Ned on a blanket on the floor.

Hours later,the both men start to regain consciousness.

The knight rubs his sweaty forehead as he blinks his eyes slowly open. His vision is blurry at first and then clears.

He observes his himself. His armor's not on him and the only thing covering his nakedness is a white bedsheet that covers his abdomen to his toes.

" What on earth?," he says as he gets up.

" hi," Alex said sitting on a chair behind him.

The knight fidgets and turns to him.

" I strongly advise you not to move too much. You're naked," Alex stated." Tea?," Alex said raising a sizzling hot cup of tea and a grin.

" Um,who are you?," The knight asks.

Alex drops the cup on the table. " My name's Alex, I'm 15,this is my home as you can see. Uh.....and I was there when those weird looking creatures were attacking you. And then I brought you back here," Alex said.

" What happened to those creatures?," The knight asked.

" They uh... it's a bit hard to explain. Honestly,I don't even know what happened. The only thing I remember is the explosion of a great light and they just vanished," Alex explained.

The knight faces front. He slightly shifts the sheet to see his thigh.

" It's....healed?...what medicine did you use?," he asked as he turns back to Alex.

" I didn't use any medicine on you...I guess it just kinda healed," Alex said.

Ned starts moving. He turns to other side where the knight. He opens his eyes and sees a man covering himself with a white sheet with no clothing.

He jolts up.

" Who are you?," he asks with a bold tone of voice. " Where's Alex!?," he asks fiercely.

" Right here," Alex waves.

Ned let's out a sigh of relief.

" Are you okay?," he asks.

" Yeah," Alex answers.

" Good," Ned said relaxed.

" Now it's time for explanations," Alex said as he stands up.

" What explanations?," Ned said, trying to pretend like he doesn't understand what he means.

" Are we going to pretend like I didn't see welding fire. Even if I can't remember much,I know I saw you shooting fire out of your hands," Alex said.

" He's been gifted with fire powers, don't you know that?," The knight said.

Ned gives a look.

" Your friend here is among the last of the people who were gifted by the legacy," the knight said. He stands up and and ties the sheet around his waist.

Alex comes to Ned's front.

" Ned, what's he talking about?," Alex asked.

Ned closes his eyes and sighs. " Forgive me,Gemma," he mutters. "Going back centuries ago...I was given my gift when I was seven by the legacy. A mighty being with numerous of powers," Ned starts. " Actually, it's a long story. I can't tell you, but I can show you," Ned said.

The knight moves to a corner where his armor is.

He walks to it and prepares to put it on.

" What are you doing?," Alex asked.

" I'm a knight. I have duties to fulfill to my kingdom," he said holding his breastplate.

" Isn't your kingdom gone?," Alex asked.

" Gone or not, I'm still a knight of the kingdom of Alexandria. I pledged an oath to my kingdom to serve them to my last breath. And I will make it my goal to go after those creatures and even after void himself," the knight said.

" There's no way you can defeat him and you're a one man army... it'll be too difficult. You need to rest and regroup," Ned said.

" What's the void? I am so lost," Alex said with a confused look.

" doesn't this kid know anything?," the knight said.

" Things are... complicated," Ned said.

He holds Alex's hand and faces the wall. With a sweet precise motion,Ned raises his hand,his palms facing forward. Crackling fire emanets from his hands. He focuses the energy. He seems to pull the fabric of time with a snap of his finger, revealing a glowing portal where none had existed before. The portal pulsated with enticing purple light and a soothing hot feeling.

Ned motions for the knight to join them.

" I'm not wearing clothes," the Knight said.

" Don't worry about that. Just trust me," Ned said.

The Knight walks to his other side and looks at the portal. Alex is lost in the beautiful spirals of the portal.

Ned sighs and they walk through it.....
