The sun sets and shines upon khaleria,a small medieval town filled with wonder...sort of. The air was thick and filled with the smell of woodsmoke, fresh bread and fruits and the distant tang of the blacksmith forge.
The little kids run and play on the narrow roads which are twisted and turned, lined with half timber houses that seemed to lean in.
The market is bustling with activity and you could faintly hear the hammering sounds of the blacksmith. The towns almighty tower loomed above,it's stone façade worn smooth by the element.
And a little far away from the town, the castle's towering and spikey walls rose, protecting their towering castle with mighty torrents.
The town of khaleria was never a dull place. The people were happy and satisfied. Their united and had a bond like no other. Nobody was left behind, nobody was never lonely...they were one.
And to top it off, they had a partly awesome king. He wasn't so kind,he wasn't so wise. He was one of those in between people. It seemed he was neither good or bad. He was just...neutral.
Sitting on a short bench was none other than Leon....the towns most beloved boy. He's brown skinned with a slender body,he has brown curly hair,not-so-thick matching eyebrows,a slender nose, almond brown eyes, and pink heavy upper lips. He's fifteen and very educated. He loves reading, he's very friendly, polite, inquisitive, he's slightly muscular and his face is not so chiseled..but it's chiseled.
He's sitting on a short bench with a book in his hands and his legs crossed. He wears an ash tunic and a blue doublet that is worn over the tunic. To cover his legs he wears a black hose and has on black sandals.
" Hey Alex," A girl greets as she passes with her friend.
Leon looks up and smiles and then returns back to face his book.
Suddenly something blocks his light.
He looks up in confusing and sees what blocking his light. He purses his lips at the figure above him.
" Really Ned?," Alex asked.
" You know you're not supposed to be outside right," Ned said. His eyes twinkling and his voice low.
Alex groans... He closes his book and stands from the bench.
" I hate that you're like this," Alex whines and starts walking.
Ned squints his eyes a little and watches Alex walk away in frustration...and that makes him frustrated.
Ned wishes Alex could understand why he needs to be secluded...things are difficult...and things are hidden..Ned exhales and walks after Alex.
" Come on,Alex," Ned begs. " How many times do I need to explain to you that everything I do, everything we all do Is to keep you safe," Ned tried reasoning.
" And that's what I don't understand and no one refuses to explain to me," Alex said as he stopped, turned back to look at Ned.
" Your mother was very important to us. And when she died she made us promise that we keep you safe," Ned said as he bends to Alex's height and places his hands on Leon's shoulders.
" Do I need to remind you that your mother was our greatest warrior? And as a warrior she was we have to honor her by keeping you safe. Even if it means we lock up in your room forever," Ned said calmly.
Alex's s frustration fades and sadness fills him.
" You're a smart kid. I know you understand," Ned said slightly lifting Alex's cheek up.
Ned smiles and stretches himself to his normal height.
" Know,if you'll excuse me, I have some men to coordinate to help strengthen our walls. See you later," Ned said flicking his hat up and giving him a warm smile that shows his deep dimples and walks away.
Alex sighs and folds his arms.
" Alex!," a small feminine voice speaks. He turns abruptly, but no is there. He looks left and right but no one's there." Okay, I'm hearing voices now... better go in and lie down," Leon said as he walks suspiciously to his humble abode.
