Following the direction of the map the book provided, they venture deeper into the woods. Elias walks the horse and Alex is on it.
He turns the book upsidedown, left, right,up and down trying to figure the next route. They stop as two paths lay before them.
“ So...which path do we take?,” Elias asks as he looks at the path.
Alex doesn't answer. The struggling groans of Alex shifts Elias's focus to him.
“ What are you doing?,” Elias asked with a raised eyebrow.
“ I'm trying to figure out this map,” Alex answered still turning the book upsidedown.
“ What do you mean by that?,” Elias heaved.
“...that I'm trying to figure out this map?,” Alex said... confused at Elias's question.
“ But you've been directing us for miles now,” Elias said.
“ Have I?,” Alex said tilting his head and looking up.
“YES!,” Elias said with frustration.
“ I'm going to be honest with you,” he then sighs. “ Whatever direction I've been giving has probably been me guessing so....,” Alex said.
“ Oh dear lord!,” Elias reacted. He moves front then back a bit. He joins his hands together as he if wants to pray and then he places them on his mouth.
“ So,what you're telling me that we're lost?,” Elias asked.
“ ....maybe?,” Alex answered.
“ How can you not how to read a map!,” Elias yelled. He puts his hands on his waist, bits his lower lip and shakes his head.
“ Uh,excuse me...by now you should know that I've been locked up my entire life!,” Alex yelled back.“ Why couldn't you read the map yourself!?,” Alex yelled.
“ Because I was holding the damn horse!,” Elias answered.
“ You could have multitasked!,” Alex yells.
“ Nobody on this earth can hold a horse and read a map! And besides,I need to hold the horse so it wouldn't lose direction!”
“....it is a magical, fire made horse...that Ned made, you know the one that died,” Alex said with sass.
“ oh my God,”
“ he probably would have given it instructions..and that means YOU'RE HELP WASN'T NEEDED!,” Alex yells.
Elias sighs with his hands on his waist.
“ No amount of yelling is going to get us back on the right track,” Elias said softly.
Alex softens and sighs. The suddenly lights up the path on the right on the map.
“ Would you look that... we're meant to go right,” he said with a smile.
“ huh?,” Elias said in confusion.
“ Look,” Alex shows the book to him.
He takes a look.
“ It looks like we're not lost anymore,” Elias said still looking at the map.
“ Looks like I guessed right,” Alex said proudly as he closes the book shut and smiles.
Elias scoffs and gets on the horse.
“ hey!,”
“ What...you didn't expect me to walk all the way did you?,” said Elias.
