11. The Journey Begins 🧚🏾‍♀️

The horse is fast on it's hooves,making sure it's far far far away from Khaleria. It dives deep into the forest and hides under the coverings off the shade the tall trees provides.

As soon as they're at a long distance,the horse stops. Elias get's down from the horse. He meets a gloomy Alex. The dried tears on his cheeks are extremely visible.

“ Alex?,” Elias called,his deep voice in a soft tone.

Alex doesn't answer. He gives Elias a cold look.

“ I told you to turn back,” Alex said in a cold tone of voice as he hops down the horse.

“ We were outnumbered and you needed to stay safe,” Elias said in a calm tone, trying to reason with Alex.“ And besides.... there's nothing that could have been done,” Elias said calmly.

“ I could have at least tried something,” Alex said,his voice cracking. He sees a log covered with green moss. He sits on it and rests his chin on his palms.

Elias sits by him. He places a comforting hand on his shoulders. Alex shakes off his hand.

“ Listen,I know you're hurt about Ned's...death. But his attempt to save you should not go to waste. Instead,it should motivate you. It should drive you to learn and train in order for something like this to not repeat itself,” Elias encouraged.

Alex tears up. The feeling of determination floods him. The book starts glowing. He takes it and it opens on its own... revealing a map.

“ Where is this place?,” Alex asks. Elias leans in too see.

“ This is a map of the five kingdoms,” Elias said. His fingers run through the path of the five kingdoms. And in every kingdom there's an x mark with different colors and it leads to a big X mark.

“ So..if I'm seeing this right, we're supposed to go to all this places,” Alex said.

“ It seems so,” Elias said.

“ And what of this x-marks?,” Alex asks.

“ I have no idea. Maybe we'll find out when we travel through them,” Elias said.

Alex closes the book.

“Let the journey begin”
