"Lando, you gotta wake up," Sevyn whispered, her voice tight with tension.

Lando groaned, rolling over to face her. "What's up?" He squinted against the early morning light.

"I took a test," she said, holding out the little plastic stick with trembling hands.

The digital display blinked 'PREGNANT' in bold letters. Lando's eyes shot open, sleep forgotten. He took the stick, examining it.

"You're... we're..?"

Sevyn shrugged her shoulders, her eyes brimming with unshed tears. "It's been almost two weeks late and I took a second one but it said not pregnant."

Lando sat up, the gravity of the situation weighing him down. He wrapped his arms around her, the warmth of his embrace offering a semblance of comfort amidst the shock.

"Okay, let's not freak out," he murmured. "We need to get you to the doctor, make sure it's true."

Sevyn leaned into him, her body quaking with fear.

"What if it is?" she asked, her voice muffled against his chest. "What do we do?"

"We'll figure it out together," Lando assured her, stroking her hair. "But first, let's get you checked out, okay?" Sevyn nodded her head.

They dressed in a flurry of nerves, the air in the room charged with a tension that seemed to thicken with every passing second.

The silence was deafening, only pierced by the occasional shaky exhale or rustle of fabric, once fully dress the two left the apartment.

In the  patients room Sevyn's grip on Lando's hand grew tighter with every step they took toward the exam room. The nurse, noticing their palpable anxiety, offered a reassuring smile.

"It's okay, dear. Sometimes these things are just a little off. Let's make sure everything's alright."

The nurse, the woman with a gentle demeanor, took the blood sample with practiced ease. She promised results within the hour, and Lando and Sevyn stepped out into the private waiting room, the walls closing in around them.
