Sevyn checked her phone for the third time in ten minutes. Her heart raced with excitement and a hint of anxiety as she saw her parent's location they were almost here from their hotel, her parents had made it to Atlanta the night before.

She had been looking forward to this moment for months: her parents' first visit to her apartment.

The living room was immaculate, the smell of pine and cinnamon from the Christmas tree blending with the aroma of cookies baking in the oven. Along with What Christmas Means To Me by Stevie Wonder playing in the background.

Lando walked in, wiping his hands on a kitchen towel, and gave her a reassuring smile. "They're going to love it here," he said, eyeing the neatly wrapped presents under the tree.

Sevyn took a deep breath, trying to ignore the butterflies in her stomach.

"I hope so," she replied, straightening a pillow on the couch. "We've made this place our home, I just want everything to be perfect."

Lando wrapped his arms around her waist, turning her to face him. "You've got this. They're going to love the place, and you know I've got your back." He kissed her forehead gently, his warm breath easing her nerves.

"Just letting you know I'm going to tell them about the surgery," Sevyn told him.

"Are you sure?" Lando questioned, remembering that night vividly.

"Yeah and once Simone finishes radiation I'll tell the fam and I do have to tell coach Loni but until then just my parents," Sevyn said making Lando nod his head in agreement.

"Did you take your medicine?" Lando asked.

"Yeah, and I won't have to worry about it again until they leave."

Just as Lando was about to say something the doorbell chimed, and Sevyn's eyes widened.

"They're here!" she exclaimed, slipping out of Lando's embrace to rush to the door. She swung it open to reveal her parents, bundled in winter coats and lugging suitcases behind them.

Marie beamed at the sight of her, her eyes teary, "Merry Christmas, baby girl!" she said, stepping in to give Sevyn a tight hug.

Anthony followed closely, a proud smile on his face. His eyes scanned the room, taking in the festive decorations. "Looks like you've got the holiday spirit in full swing," he said, unbuttoning his coat and hugging Sevyn.

Sevyn stepped aside, allowing them both to enter and felt a wave of warmth wash over her.

Her mother's eyes lit up as she took in the festive scene. "Oh, Sevyn, it's so lovely in here," she said, her voice filled with genuine warmth. "And Lando, you've outdone yourself," she added, hugging him.

"Thanks, Miss. Marie," Lando replied, setting the box down with a thud, "It's our first Christmas in our place, so we wanted to make it special."

"It definitely feels like home," Anthony said, looking around, "good to see you again son," Anthony said as he clapped Lando on the back.
