"Y'all started without us? Rude." Thea said as she, Sevyn, and Simone sat down at the table for family breakfast. Sevyn greeted and kissed Lando before starting to eat her breakfast.

"Oh, well, that's what happens when you're late to family breakfast, lunch, or dinner, for that matter," Nate told them.

"Our bad. We ran long on the court." Simone apologized.

"So the tennis workout went well?" Devin asked. From the look on her face, Sevyn already knew that Simone was about to lie.

"Yeah. It was fine, but how are y'all holding up now that baseball's gone for good?" She asked changing the subject.

The guys shared a look before Lando started, "Yeah. It's tough, but, um, Coach Marcus is getting the team together today. He's got some special guest to help us process it, so..."

"Hmm, and I need it, 'cause after everything I went through to get healthy, I-- I just can't believe I won't be able to play the sport that I love," JR said sadly just as Nate's cell phone chimes.

"Oh, it's--it's from Bringston Law School," Nate said making Sevyn and Thea gasps, ready to hear if she had gotten accepted.

"We appreciate your..." Um, I've been waitlisted.

"What?"

"Yeah."

"I don't understand. How can Bringston Law waitlist you? Your grades are impeccable." Simone was shocked at how they could waitlist their top student.

"You had so many recommendations, you ran out of space on the application," Lando said giving a confused look.

"Yeah, and your social justice work alone should've made you a guarantee," Sevyn told her.

"You know, if they can't see how great you are, that's on them, not you," Thea said trying to cheer Nate up.

"Well, thank y'all for the kind words of concern, but I'm good."

"Baby, how are you good? Bringston is your top choice." Nate's boyfriend Ryan asked.

"It was, but it's not my only choice. I have, what, half a dozen out-of-state law schools vying for my legal genius. Your girl's got options." Nate said excitedly but Sevyn could see the look on Ryan's face when Nate said out of state Law schools not expecting Nate to leave Atlanta.

"Girl, that's right on the nose," Thea said.

"Period."

"Period."

"Hey, baby." Devin greeted his girlfriend as she walked over to their table.

"Hey, how you doing?" Eva said as she hugged him.

"Hey, Eva, would you like to join us for family breakfast? We have plenty of room." Simone asked making Sevyn nudge her under the table.

"Oh, that's-- that's sweet, thanks, but I actually got Devin and me a spot," Eva said as she wrapped her arm around Devin's shoulder and he wrapped his arms around her.
