Third person's pov!

The pooja was over and by evening, they were planning to return to Bangalore, as Vaiga and Laya already missed a few days of college.

Anjana and Vaiga were in the living room, watching Kriti play. That's when Dadi came and sat there. Iniya, Charvi bua's daughter sitting next to her. Iniya was a xerox copy of Chirashree. In looks and in character. So, Chirashree is very fond of Iniya.

"What was the hurry in getting Abhi married to this girl, Anjana?" Chirashree asked, her dislike evident in her voice.

Vaiga felt her heart beating crazily. She was scared of this old lady.

"What do you mean, Amma? They are happily married. What is the problem now?" Anjana asked, trying hard to control her temper.

"Problem? She was a divorcee. How could you get your son married to a divorcee. Abhi would have gotten a far far better girl. Iniya would have been perfect for him." Chirashree said angrily and Vaiga gulped.

"If Vaiga was a divorcee before marrying me, I was a widower until I married her, Dadi." Abhay's booming voice echoed across the walls of the Agnihotri living room.

"Abhi..."

"Moreover, I am a single dad too. If you are counting points, it would be in Vaiga's favour only. She didn't have to marry a man who has a child. She would have gotten better proposals. But then, my daughter is lucky. She got a mother who loves her so much." Abhay said and Chirashree bit on her anger.

"And what does Iniya lack in that she has to marry a widower with a child? Do you think she wouldn't get someone better?" Abhay asked in a taunting tone.

Abhay was trying hard to control his temper. More than his dadi, he was angry at Vaiga for silently standing there and listening to taunts.

"My mama, my wife, Vaiga and my daughter, Kriti. The three ladies in my life. I won't tolerate it if anybody tries to hurt them in any way, Dadi." Abhay said in a tone of finality and everyone felt a shiver running down their spines.

Abhay then turned to look at Vaiga, his eyes spitting fire at her. Vaiga was taken aback at the anger she saw in his eyes.

"Come.." He ordered and walked towards the main door. Vaiga stood rooted to her place, too scared to even move an inch. Abhay turned around and saw Vaiga was still standing there. It doubled his anger.

"Didn't you hear me, Vaiga? I said come out..." He was literally screaming and Vaiga ran behind him, her heart hammering crazily.

Abhay mounted the motorcycle and kicked it start and raced it again and again, turning the handle, showing how angry he was. Vaiga hurriedly got behind him and the moment she sat, Abhay released his hand from the brake and the motorcycle raced out of the Agnihotri compound.

Abhay was taking out all his anger on the accelerator and Vaiga was clutching on him hardly with her eyes closed, scared at the speed with which he was riding. The motorcycle came to a halt near a small stream.

"Get down.." Abhay bellowed and Vaiga could sense the barely concealed anger in his voice.

Abhay looked at her angrily and then turned around, taking deep breaths to control his anger. Vaiga clutched her dupatta between her fingers, twisting it nervously. Her face was pale, her eyes wide with fear and confusion as she watched Abhay closely. She had never seen him this angry, this volatile. Not even on that day when he had taken her for college admissions.

"What are your intentions, Vaiga?" Abhay asked, his voice a mixture of frustration and concern.

Vaiga looked at him in confusion, her voice caught in her throat.
