Third person's pov!
Laya, Drishti, and Siddhu had dragged Vaiga out to the mall for some much-needed relaxation. Anjana had insisted that Vaiga have some 'no baby' time, a rare occurrence since Vaiga spent nearly all her time with Kriti outside of college hours. But Anjana was adamant on Vaiga enjoying her life beyond the duties of a wife and a mother. Reluctantly, Vaiga agreed.
They strolled through the mall, each step bringing more laughter and light-hearted conversation.
"Look at that dress," Drishti exclaimed, pointing to a mannequin in a store window. "That would look amazing on Vaiga."
"I don't know," Vaiga said, eyeing the dress. "It's a bit too... flashy for me."
"Nonsense," Laya interjected. "You would rock it."
Siddhu, however, was distracted, staring at a tech gadget store across the way.
"Why are we even here?" he muttered. "I could be looking at the latest drones."
"Because Vaiga needed some time off," Drishti replied, rolling her eyes. "And you need to learn how to enjoy yourself."
"Enjoy myself" Siddhu shot back, crossing his arms. "Enjoyment is shopping for overpriced clothes."
"Overpriced clothes?" Drishti echoed, her tone rising. "Shopping is a perfectly legitimate way to unwind. Besides, at least I know how to dress well, unlike someone who wears the same three t-shirts all the time."
Vaiga and Laya exchanged amused glances, trying to stifle their laughter.
"My t-shirts are comfortable," Siddhu defended himself. "And at least I don't spend hours trying to decide what to wear every day."
"Hours?!" Drishti retorted, her eyes narrowing. "You think I spend hours getting ready?"
"Oh please," Siddhu scoffed. "You take forever. I have known you for what? Twelve years now?"
"Maybe if you had better taste, I wouldn't have to spend so much time compensating for your lack of style," Drishti shot back, her hands on her hips.
Vaiga couldn't hold it in any longer and burst out laughing.
"You two are so entertaining. I feel like I am watching a sitcom." Vaiga said laughing
Laya nodded in agreement, wiping tears of laughter from her eyes.
"Seriously, you both need your own show."
Drishti turned to Vaiga and Laya, feigning indignation.
"Can you believe him? All he does is criticise my fashion sense. Why am I even friends with him?"
"A question I ask myself every night before I go to sleep." Siddhu retorted, though his eyes were twinkling with amusement.
"Alright, you two," Vaiga said, still chuckling. "Truce, okay? We are here to have fun."
"Fine," Drishti said with a mock sigh, giving Siddhu a playful nudge. "Truce."
"Truce," Siddhu agreed, grinning. "But only because bhabhi said so."
"Good," Laya said, linking arms with Vaiga. "Now, let's go find some ice cream shop."
As they made their way towards the food court, the lighthearted atmosphere was suddenly disrupted. A man stepped into their path, blocking their way. Siddhu's eyes widened in shock and recognition, and Vaiga looked at the man in confusion. He was good-looking and well-dressed, but the crafty look in his eyes immediately set off alarm bells.
