Third person's pov!

The party has been in full swing. Vaiga gradually got accustomed to it, though she wasn't completely comfortable.

Drishti and Siddhu had hit the dance floor the moment the music started and they are still at it as energetic as when the party began. Vaiga could only stare in wonder at their energy. A couple of times, Drishti dragged Shravan to the dance floor and Shravan had no choice but to give into his stubborn wife's demands.

It was different when it came to Mithran and Chaahat. Chaahat seemed more reserved in Vaiga's eyes, but Mithran is a very outgoing person with an infectious personality.

Though poles apart in character, both the couples were amazingly in love with each other. A pang of sadness hit Vaiga as she realised how unlucky she was when it came to love and marriage. She had only been married for a few months. Even though they had a love marriage, Shiva failed to trust her. Maybe she didn't love him enough to instil that kind of trust in him.

"May I have a dance with you, beautiful?" Vaiga got startled out of her thoughts when she heard a flirty voice.

She looked at the man uncomfortably and looked around trying to find an escape route.

"A gorgeous girl like you shouldn't stand alone.." He flirted again and Vaiga wanted to run away.

From out of nowhere, Siddhu reached her side and Vaiga sighed in relief.

"Sorry, Mr Rao, she already promised to dance with me. Shall we?" Siddhu said and asked the last part looking at Vaiga.

Vaiga, who somehow wanted to escape from the man who was trying to flirt with her, immediately nodded her head and took Siddhu's extended hand.

Drishti and Siddhu had earlier asked her to join them for the dance, but she refused. Siddhu took this as a chance to drag Vaiga to the dance floor.

Vaiga loved dancing. Not the kind of dance happening on the dance floor. She had learned classical dance and music since she was three years old. Her ghungroo was her lifeline, but it feels like it has been ages since she wore it.

"Finally, you got her here.." Drishti said gleefully as she pulled Vaiga in for the dance.

"I just came to get away from that man. I will go find Anjana Maa." Vaiga said.

"No way. The partner dance is about to begin and the music is going to change. You dance with Siddhu. Lemme go find my hubby jaan." Drishti said and Siddhu held Vaiga's wrists firmly not letting her escape as Drishti made a beeline for Shravan who seemed to be in some serious discussion with Abhay.

"Oh my god! She managed to drag bhai too.." Siddhu chuckled seeing Drishti dragging two disinterested men to the dance floor.

Vaiga watched as a young girl, probably eighteen or nineteen, hugging both Shravan and Drishti. Abhay fondly caressed her head as she smiled at him widely.

Drishti said something to the girl and she nodded excitedly and dragged Abhay to the dance floor, who followed her rolling his eyes.

"She didn't say she was coming.." Vaiga was startled out of staring at the other scene when she heard the grumpy complaint coming from Siddhu.

The music began and each pair on the floor started grooving against the music.

"Who?" Vaiga asked and followed Siddhu's gaze which was on the girl dancing with Abhay.

"My girl.. Shreya!" Siddhu said without thinking and his eyes widened in horror as soon as the words got out of his mouth.

"Your girl?" Vaiga asked with a chuckle.

"Don't tell anyone. Shravan bhai would kill me.." Siddhu said softly.

"Why would Shravan bhai kill you if you love some girl?" Vaiga asked in confusion as she gently moved in rhythm to the music.

"Well, he will hardly kiss me if he finds out I am in love with his beloved sister.." Siddhu said and Vaiga's eyes widened in surprise.

Siddhu dragged Vaiga closer to where Abhay and Shreya were dancing.

As Siddhu skillfully manoeuvred through the dancers, Vaiga found herself being swiftly passed to another person and she was unexpectedly now face-to-face with Abhay. The sudden switch left both of them stunned, their eyes locking in a moment of shared discomfort.

Abhay instinctively wrapped his arms around Vaiga's waist as she stood in his embrace, her body tense with surprise. His touch on her bare waist sent a jolt of awareness through her, their proximity more intimate than she had anticipated. For a brief moment, they remained frozen, the air thick with unspoken tension.

Realising his mistake, Abhay quickly withdrew his hands, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment. Vaiga, equally flustered, took a step back, her heart pounding in her chest.

Before either of them could say anything, Abhay spoke up, his voice low and urgent.

"Don't leave the dance floor. There are only a few pairs on the dance floor. If you go now, everyone will notice. We don't want to become the subject of gossip."

Vaiga hesitated, torn between the desire to escape the awkward situation and the need to avoid drawing attention to themselves. Reluctantly, she nodded in agreement, her gaze fixed on the ground.

As the music continued to play, they stood side by side, their bodies swaying gently to the rhythm, yet their minds lost in their own thoughts. Neither dared to look at each other, the silence between them heavy with unspoken words and unresolved emotions.

When the music finally came to a stop, Vaiga wasted no time in extricating herself from the dance floor, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

Anjana had already retired to one of the rooms booked, with Kriti when she got cranky. Vaiga had insisted on taking Kriti, but Anjana refused, asking Vaiga to enjoy the party.

"Vaiga, where are you going?" Drishti asked, hurrying after her.

"I am having a terrible headache, Drishti. I am going to the room." With that said Vaiga made her way through the empty corridors, her steps faltering as she struggled to process the events of the evening. Her head was throbbing with pain, the noise and chaos of the party only exacerbating her discomfort.

Just as she reached the end of the hallway, she felt a strong hand grab her arm, pulling her into the shadows. Before she could react, a pungent smell filled her nostrils, and she felt a damp cloth pressed against her face and felt something being injected into her.

Panic surged through her as she realised what was happening. She tried to scream, to fight back, but it was too late. Darkness closed in around her, and she slipped into unconsciousness, unaware of what was going to happen in her life next..
