Third person's pov!
"I- Do you mind if I kiss you now, Vaiga?" Abhay asked and Vaiga looked at him stunned.
"Wh- What?"
"Okay.. forget it.." Abhay said, cursing himself for saying that out loud.
"Sorry if I made you uncomfortable, Vaiga. I didn't want to hide what I was feeling. Hiding things would only complicate things in the long run. Keeping things buried within would only affect our own emotional condition. Now that I have got it off my chest, I am feeling much more relieved.." Abhay said softly, a small smile on his lips.
Vaiga's heart pounded even harder, realising the truth in Abhay's words. Hiding things would only complicate life. The weight of their shared silence, their hidden desires, and their unspoken fears had been a burden neither of them could carry alone anymore.
"I- I also feel the same," Vaiga murmured softly, her voice trembling with the weight of her confession. Abhay looked at her curiously, his eyes reflecting a mixture of hope and caution.
"You are right," she continued, her gaze dropping to their intertwined hands. "Hiding would only complicate things. You respected our relationship enough to speak out. To admit what you feel. I believe I should also do the same."
Abhay listened carefully, his expression softening with understanding. Vaiga took a deep breath, trying to steady the tumultuous emotions swirling within her.
"The attraction you spoke about... I also felt that. It was so unexpected and it scared me. It still does. I don't know how to explain it. Is it right to indulge in physical pleasures when we cannot promise each other anything more?" Vaiga asked, her voice barely a whisper.
Abhay sighed, his brow furrowing in contemplation.
"I don't know, Vaiga. I wish I had an answer to that. But I believe we have to be honest about what we feel, even if it's confusing."
Vaiga nodded, appreciating his honesty. She was surprised at how vulnerable they both were, laying bare their fears and desires in the quiet of the night. It felt both terrifying and liberating.
"Do you regret what happened yesterday, Vaiga?" Abhay asked, his voice gentle but insistent.
Vaiga was surprised to realise that she didn't regret even a single second of it.
"I- no..." she admitted, her cheeks flushing with the admission.
"Do you feel it was wrong?" Abhay pressed, searching her face for any sign of regret or hesitation.
Vaiga looked away, the memory of their kiss flooding her mind. It had felt so damn right at that time.
"Do you, Vaiga?" Abhay asked once again, his tone more urgent.
"No..." Vaiga's words were a mere whisper, and Abhay wouldn't have heard it if he wasn't paying such close attention to her.
The intensity in his eyes deepened, a raw hunger flickering in the depths of his gaze. He leaned in slightly, his breath warm against her skin.
"If I kiss you again now, will it feel wrong for you, Vaiga?" He asked, his voice a husky whisper that sent shivers down her spine.
Vaiga turned to look at him, her heart racing. She was captivated by the raw desire she saw in his eyes, a reflection of the same yearning that burned within her. Her lips parted slightly, the words escaping before she could even think.
