The next morning, I woke up in bed. My eyes traveled around, looking for his presence but found none. I got up and looked out the window before placing my feet on the cold floor. Walking towards the washroom, I freshened up. After getting ready, I was about to go outside when some women approached me without permission, pushing me back inside.
"We are here to get you ready for the engagement," one of them said. I looked at them in confusion but nodded my head and sat on the bed.
They started doing my hair and makeup, not allowing me to look at myself. "You are not allowed to see yourself before Sir," they said. I didn't respond. One girl took out a dress from the suitcase she had been holding for a long time and showed it to me.
To be honest, the dress was beautiful and elegant. Its net fabric, colored in black and red, was perfectly decorated with shimmers and flowers. It had a cloak on the neck that covered the shoulders and arms. It was just perfect.
They quickly started running around, hiding all the mirrors. Within a few seconds, they all stood covering their eyes.
"You can change," one of the girls said. I looked at them with my mouth open. Is that what Kian told them? I sighed and opened my dress, letting it fall to the floor.
I stepped into the dress, wearing it completely. Once I was done, I informed them. They all opened their eyes simultaneously and widened them. My eyebrows arched in a questioning manner. The girl coughed, gaining the others' attention, and they quickly resumed their work.
They gave me jewelry to wear, but I wasn't fond of any of it. It just felt heavy on my body, so I told them to skip it. I wore nothing from them, not even the earrings.
Once everything was done, they left, saying, "Congratulations."
I took small steps toward the open window, looking at the long iron door. Once, I wanted to run away, but now I was going to be here, caged until my body turned to ash with my husband.
I knew what marriage was: a promise of eternity, a promise of staying together with your better half. I was taught to learn how marriage works, how the wife will give her whole to her husband without asking anything in return. A devotion based on respect, care, emotions, and love. Maybe love wasn't there in this marriage, but everything else would be.
I was busy with my thoughts when I felt someone placing his chin on my shoulder.
"Kian..." I whispered.
"Birdy..." he whispered at the same time. We both took a deep breath after hearing that—mine was for courage, and his was for desperation.
I wanted to turn, but his hold tightened on me. "Shh, don't turn, not right now, or I won't be able to handle myself, Birdy... please." That plea made me still in my place.
His lips softly started touching my neck. I hadn't worn the cloak yet, which gave him access to my whole neck. He kept nibbling it, while my neck arched in pleasure and pain. His touches were burning something inside me, something hateful yet addictive.
"Why didn't you wear the jewelry, Birdy?" he asked in a raspy voice.
"Wasn't fond of them," I whispered softly.
"But it will look beautiful, Birdy," he said again, his voice getting deeper with each word.
"Am I not beautiful without them?" I asked suddenly, not trusting my own words. I bit my lip in shame.
"Sinful, fucking sinful without them or with them. Even without anything, Birdy, you will look sinful." His raspy voice hit my ear so closely, and then he bit it, earning a small moan from my mouth before leaving it.
His tongue rolled from bottom to top, wetting my neck with his hot saliva. I closed my eyes, feeling his touches. With a sudden jerk, he turned me towards him, my wide eyes meeting his dark ones. His arms pushed me into his chest without leaving any distance between us. His mouth opened fully, taking both my lips in one go, giving them a hard suck before kissing me. The sound of slurping echoed in my usually silent room. The morning cold air touched our hair softly, making it fly a little.
His hand grabbed one of my legs, keeping it on his chest. The kiss kept getting harsher, pushing me more down, away from him, but his hand on my head didn't let my lips move anywhere.
His tongue kept thrusting into my mouth, letting me taste him. He wasn't ready to let go of me until my leg touched something, making a huge noise as it dropped to the floor.
He broke the kiss and made me stand up. My gaze turned towards the small decorative pot, now shattered on the floor, while his eyes never left me. I turned my eyes back to him. His hands made their way towards my waist, pulling me into his hold.
"You look beautiful and messy at the same time, Birdy, so ravishing," he whispered in his deep husky voice. I gulped after hearing that. His thumb made its way towards my chin, slowly rubbing it there. When he showed me, I gasped, seeing the red lipstick covering his whole thumb. I pushed him a little, getting out of his hold, and walked to the mirror, quickly unwrapping the cloth the girls had used to cover it.
The dress fit me perfectly. My hair was curled, my neck was covered in hickeys. That man is really a monster. I sighed and then glanced at my face. If I had worn the mask, I would have looked beautiful, but alas, it wasn't. My mouth was covered in red lipstick.
I opened the drawer, taking out some wipes, and was about to wipe my mouth when Kian snatched them from me. I looked at him in confusion. He suddenly sat on his knees, placing the wipe between his fingers and slowly took it near my mouth. My mouth let out a small gasp after seeing this action. He started wiping my mouth slowly, softly removing the lipstick. Once he was done, he got up and picked up the red lipstick from the bed where the makeup bag was placed. He walked towards me again, grabbed my chin with his rough hands, and started applying it to my lips. I kept looking at his face while he focused on applying it correctly.
"It didn't taste good, Birdy, but you did," he said without looking at me. My mouth parted after hearing that.
"Don't, Birdy, I will mess up," he warned in a stern voice, and I quickly closed my mouth again.
"Let's go," he said and got up, looking down at me. I nodded and got up, following him.
"Oh, wait," he stopped and walked towards the bed, picking up the cloak and making me wear it. "Let me keep you hidden just for me, Birdy," he said, kissing my shoulder before letting the cloth place on my naked shoulder.
