I was resting in my room, looking out the window, not knowing what to do. A few minutes passed, and I felt myself getting sleepy, so I closed my eyes and slept peacefully.
A few hours passed, and I woke up with a long stretch. My feet made their way towards the floor, and I looked at the clock. It was still too early to make dinner, so I thought I should explore the whole house. I made my way outside and started looking at all the rooms one by one. Then I found the most beautiful room, filled with books and touched with nature. It looked peaceful. I sat on the wooden chair, my back supported by a cushioned seat, and a sigh of contentment left my mouth. I wanted to stay there, but not today. I got up again and walked towards another room, and once I opened the white door, my eyes widened in surprise. There was a huge swimming pool. "Maybe Kian likes to swim," I thought and shrugged my shoulders before closing the door again. The last place to visit was the garden now. I walked towards it, and trust me, it was mesmerizing with all the beautiful flowers, a white swing in the middle, and a small waterfall. "Wow" was the only word that escaped my mouth. I let myself sit on the swing slowly, as the wind started caressing my hair, making it fly.
Nature's beauty was captivating. I looked up into the sky, and again a sigh left my mouth. "Kian is going to come soon. I should go and make something for dinner."
I walked inside the kitchen and picked up the ingredients to cook. The sound of sizzling and frying echoed through the house along with the smell of food.
I was immersed in cooking when the doorbell rang. I wiped my hands on the apron and lowered the heat before going towards the door. I looked at the door camera, and there stood Kian with his stern face. I quickly opened the door with a smile and wished him, "Welcome home," and he hummed with the same cold expression. He came close to me and stood right in front of me. I was about to ask him how his day went, but before I could, he pressed his lips against mine, pushing me against the wall. I slowly placed my hands in his hair, gently caressing them. He kept devouring my lips, and I let him. Our tongues danced against each other's, and his hot breath carried the taste of coffee. I could taste the bitterness on his lips. Suddenly, I remembered the food...
"Oh my God!" I quickly tapped his shoulder, which he completely ignored for a few seconds before pulling away with a frustrated sigh, sucking hard on my bottom lip. I felt a sudden wave of guilt inside me—I didn't want to stop him, but the food...
"Food will burn," I whispered against his lips, and he nodded, stepping aside to let me go. I quickly ran towards the kitchen.
"Phew... The food wasn't burned or anything. Thank God." I quickly started stirring the dish again, and my eyes darted towards Kian, who was staring at me with dark, intense eyes. A chill ran down my body as I noticed something different in his gaze. He walked in and stood just behind me, placing a soft kiss on my covered shoulder. I tilted my head to give him more space, but instead of kissing my neck, he pressed his lips against my cheek, catching me off guard.
"Hubby..." I let out a small whimper along with his name, and he hummed against my cheek, caressing my face with his own.
"I love you..." he whispered sensually, and I didn't know what to say, so I hummed. With a sudden jerk, he turned me towards him. The hot spatula touched his bare arm, and he let out a hiss of pain. I quickly pulled it back and looked at him with concern.
"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to... I'm sorry, hubby," I said, panicking. But he just stood there silently, his dark eyes still locked on mine. My hands automatically went to his face, caressing it.
I apologized again with teary eyes and a worried expression, but he remained like a statue.
"Say you love me too, Birdy..." he suddenly said, looking at me. I felt my hands drop away, but his hands quickly grabbed mine again, placing them back on his cheeks.
"Say it, Crystal," he said, and I just stood there silently. Love...
"It would be a lie, Kian..." I whispered softly, and he went quiet again. His eyes were saying so many things, demanding so much. I saw him swallow before stepping closer, but I quickly placed two fingers on his lips and said,
"Let me turn off the stove." He hummed, and I turned around, turning off the heat and covering the food. I turned back to face Kian, who was still standing close to me. He leaned in again to kiss me, and once again, I placed my fingers on his lips. This time, frustration flickered across his face.
"What..." he asked, his tone angry. I quickly shifted sideways before pulling him by the arm. Once we reached the sink, I gently rolled his sleeve further up and turned on the tap, letting the cold water run over the burn. All the while, Kian's eyes never left me. Once I was done, I said softly,
"All done." Immediately, Kian scooped me up in a bridal hold.
