"I know you can, but with me, you don't have to. I'm going to keep you close like this," Aron said, gazing into her eyes with a deep, tender look. Helen gently rested her head against his chest, content in his arms.
The morning arrived with the same routine as before. Aron came to pick Helen up, and Helen sat on the bike, holding Aron's waist tightly.
In a few minutes, they were inside the parking lot. Helen's gaze went to the empty space where a familiar car should have been parked. Now, it was empty. Something inside Helen's heart shuddered, and taking a deep breath, she started walking inside the campus beside Aron.
The class started, and the break arrived. They walked towards the canteen. Helen's gaze roamed around, hoping to see no one but Ryan. When she didn't, her mind went blank.
"Aron, you go. I forgot something in class," Helen said, removing her hand from Aron's hold.
Aron looked at her with concern and asked, "What is it? Let's go together."
"No," Helen quickly said and ran outside, leaving Aron, who just stood there motionlessly. His heart accelerated at high speed. Something wasn't right;
he knew it, so he ran, ran to find what was wrong.
Helen kept running back and forth, wanting to find no one but Ryan. Looking here and there, she kept going towards the library, the lab, every class-even the garden. When she didn't find him, she felt a sudden fear of losing him again. A lone tear left her eye, and she turned around, giving up, just to see Ryan coming towards her.
Her gaze fixed on Ryan, and then suddenly, it roamed down near his hand. Her heart stopped when she saw a fair, soft hand was entangled with his, like once he had held hers.
Her eyes quickly looked at the owner of that hand, Sia.
She shuddered in fear and confusion.
Ryan's eyes finally went to her from Sia, his lips curved in a smirk.
Helen's eyes just stared at him blankly. Ryan let go of Sia's hand and slowly walked towards Helen.
Helen's steps stumbled back , wanting to run away and hide from this scene, but she couldn't when Ryan held her waist tightly, pulling her towards him.
She didn't struggle; her body lost its strength.
"P...lease..." she mumbled, begging for what she didn't even know...for Ryan to let her go, for Ryan not to leave her, for Ryan to say her name and tell her he loved only her, or for Ryan not to choose anyone but her...
Ryan grabbed a small strand of her hair, curling it between his fingers and deeply inhaling her scent.
Helen closed her eyes, and tears started falling from them, feeling complete.
"You...
smell...
dirty, Helen..."
Ryan said cruelly, breaking Helen, who was already vulnerable. She opened her eyes and stared at his, which showed nothing but disgust.
"You let him touch you even when you knew you were mine. You chose him over me, Helen, and now go..."
Ryan said coldly, looking at her fragile state. He removed his hands from her waist, letting her fall to the ground.
Ryan started stepping back, still staring at nothing but Helen.
"Play with me..." Ryan said in a slow voice when he got near Sia.
Turning towards her, he grabbed her by the waist and connected his lips with Sia's, kissing her softly...
Crushing Helen's already broken heart even more, she cried, looking at them. Her hands shivered, and she tried to get up, but her strength was gone. She wanted to remove Sia, push her away from her Ryan, but she couldn't...
Aron, who watched the scene in anger, fear, and pain, ran towards Helen.
He went on his knees just in front of her face, hiding Ryan and Sia from her vision.
He cried, looking at her state. His heart wanted nothing more than for her to love him, but when he saw her red eyes, he knew her heart already held someone else in it.
Aron slowly moved his hands towards her face, trying to comfort her with his touch softly, but Helen looked at him in anger, pushing his hand away from her.
"DON'T TOUCH ME!" Helen shouted suddenly, and Aron's expression went blank, his eyes staring at her.
"Helen..." he mumbled.
"DON'T SAY MY NAME...JUST BECAUSE OF YOU, HE IS LEAVING ME. HE CALLED ME DIRTY. HE CALLED MY LOVE FOR HIM DIRTY... He...he ca...lled me...d..ir..ty, Aron, ju...st b...eca...use ...o.f you..." Helen kept mumbling, and Aron saw nothing but red after hearing that. He turned around and ran towards Ryan, grabbing his collar and starting to punch him again and again. Ryan did the same; they both were getting bloody, and Helen just stared at the two blankly, her vision still blurry from tears.
She looked at Sia, who did nothing but stared at them with a smirk, her hand still on her lips, looking at nothing but her Ryan. She slowly tried getting up while crying out loud; she didn't know why, but protecting no one but Ryan, hiding him from everyone, and showing him her love was the only thing she wanted-that's what her heart wanted...
Stumbling again and again on her own feet, she walked towards them, pulling at his shirt with her soft hands.
She mumbled,
"I hate you..."
And Aron stopped, looking at her blankly, letting Ryan punch him again and again, his eyes just staring at no one but Helen.
"No, you don't..." he said, looking at her with tears.
"NO, YOU CAN'T..." he shouted suddenly, and Helen flinched, her fragile body starting to tremble. Ryan looked at her blankly and then looked at Aron, who was again going to touch her.
"D... don..'t to..u..ch m..e, p..lea..se, I...w..i..ll..g..et di..rty...d...on..t... pl...ease..."
Ryan smirked after hearing that, and Aron quickly took his hand back, staring at her. He didn't know when his voice started trembling, his cries grew louder, and he completely broke down on his knees.
"I l...love you, Helen. I LOVE YOU SO BAD..."
Helen cried out loud and shouted before turning her back to him and ran.
"PLEASE DON'T LOVE ME, ARON... PLEASE DON'T..."
But I do, Helen... I do..." Aron kept mumbling while crying out loud...
